What LOD would you recommend?

Hi guys,

I am slowly getting my portable gear together. I have Shure SE535 and the Baldur MKII upgrade cable. This week I plan on ordering an RSA P-51 Mustang. The last piece of my puzzle is what LOD to buy.

I was looking at the Ray Samuel's Mil Spec LOD ($125) and the Cryo LOD SXC 22 ($135) which are both within my budget. I know nothing about LODs so if anyone has any experience with these LODs or recommend any other high quality LOD within this price range, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers!!

Both are silver plated copper, but I'm not sure if a 'cyro-ed' wire makes any sonic difference. So if I were you, I would just order from the amp and cable from RSA since it would be more convenient.

What I'd like to know is how much if any difference there is between a $150 LOD and a $10 LOD? I want to make one and I'd definitely use decent materials to do so, but for all it is, I personally couldn't stomach paying that much for 6" of wire and a couple connectors.

Get a silver or silver plated copper one for about $30-$50. I used a silver one with ALO but it broke. The DIY one from a guy that no longer makes stuff is still going strong and fits perfectly in my belt pouch.

i recommed something like the ones from btg audio

lowest profile ones i could find since (without outrageous pricing), from what i see, brian from btg audio cuts the plugs to make it shorter, and the length is customizable

$40-50 for copper ones and spc is a couple dollars (not hundreds) more

I'm pretty sure phonebone still makes solid silver ones, that are still available for sale on Ebay.
