250ohm? 80ohm for example? It's for on the go and how do they fair as portables?

Have the m50 as my portable headphone but to be honest i find the sound quality just average with good bass. I use the D2000 as my home phones so looking for something just as good or close enough and really like the look of the beyers.

Heya,

The DT770 is a great headphone, it's an upgrade in my mind to the M50 because it has superior comfort, superior sound stage, and overall just a more musical sound to me. I use mine as a portable. For ohms don't matter; get what you can drive. They're all the same otherwise. A portable amp in general will handle the 80ohm & 250ohm without trouble. You'll find Beyers are actually quite easy to drive.

Nothing is going to do what that Denon does with sub-bass. But to give you an idea, the D5000 & DT770 are the two closed headphones I enjoy most. I use my DT770 as the portable. D5000 for home.

Very best,

Hey MalV was wondering, Did you ever do any modding to your d5ks? (markL mod)

The cables too long for portable use.

Heya,

Nope; I like the D5K stock as it is, never modded it since re-sell of a non-stock Denon is harder. But I never did try to sell it since it consistently stays my favorite closed back.

Very best,

Nice, I feel I like the Denons now, but all the people saying its better with the mod make me crave it, yet I dont want to ruin what I love. ^_^
