Jack replied to me and provided me an English version of directions for the updating the N1 player as well as the firmware. I created another thread for that. I'll post the link below. Once he also give mes the N3 directions I'll post it accordingly. I'm sure its the same as the N1 however so you can just use the update directions in correlation with the N3 firmware available :).

They are probably constantly working on it and figured out something worth giving us or perhaps it's simply the same FW with a minor update of the EQ controls corrected. Most of these DAPs get plenty of FW upgrades.

I was only told about the N3, does the N1 still have enough issues to warrant new firmware?

 

 

I  can't answer your question, but the same could be said for Microsoft Windows, Iphone 5, Sim City, Hifiman, Dx100,etc all have had upgrades

after the product release,

 

I agree its a pain but it seems this is now common practice.

not a week after the new firmware is released they are launching a new one, Sim city is designed to be an online game , MS windows have more software and more complex problem to troubleshoot

 

its not about if this thing actually have an upgrade or not ,but if the timeframe is this short , what did they do to not fit this fix in the first place, in the first update ?

Because in the software world, debugging is always the most time consuming / least efficient thing to do for the programmer, and 100% bug-proof firmware is close to impossible as well (unless it is something extremely simple).  Therefore it is a common practise to periodically release reasonably tested firmware and let the customer find the missed bug for you, then fix both the easiest and most important bugs first. It might be that they missed something that can be easily fixed last time around or the new code has created unexpected issue that should be fixed immediately. Programming is a very easy thing to learn, a very hard thing to master and never meant to be perfected. It is a race of evolving solutions and ever charging problems.

It's also not like they can write the FW from scratch. They are correcting and updating a template.

What are your experiences with HiSound concerning firmware updates?

Do they patch their players until most bugs are gone or do many of them stay unfixed?

The Studio has no bugs to me, so they got that one right, I don't hear the hiss others claim to do.

 

But for example HiFiMan is up to version 6 at least for the HM-601

 

Every year I used to buy Football Manager or Championship Manager, and immediately there were patches

to fix things. I guess I expect new products to have a few bugs, maybe I'm getting old and just getting more patient and 

understanding, even the mighty Iphone 5 needed 3 IOS updates to get it working properly. 

 

I would expect Hisound to correct the N3 until it is as good as can be expected, the N1 may not get the same

attention.
