I'll wait for a Nova with 8GB + SD card slot. I really thought this was gonna be my clip zip successor T_T.

They look exactly the same but different colours.

Battery playing time: about 10 hours.

Along with the lack of micro SD support mentioned last page 10 hours battery time bothers me a little. 15 - 20 hours would be considered acceptable. 10 hours playing FLAC is going to be eaten up pretty quickly I think. For daily use it would be a charge every night affair and I imagine nightmare for heavy users. When there's players out there that to 55 hours on a single charge it kind of tastes a little sour. Nova or NOVA looks to grab everyday consumers attention, not so much the audiophile market with the lack of expansion an even higher priced model just for increased memory. I simply don't see it grabbing much attention. The battery time we could live with 'possibly' the lack of an SD card slot just something a lot of us need unfortunately .

It's all very well offering a higher model with more memory, but the point is if the first model had micro SD expansion we wouldn't need to worry.

Oh well, I'll be waiting for the next serious contender on the market.

What will be the benefit of the Nova 3? Also the micro SD slot is a must Jack. Will this be lacking on all Nova player or just the lower model?

Don't forget that we have a closed series of ROCOO, It has SD Card slot.  I mean the price is a bit higher series.

So, NOVA is for these who sensitive to the price. Nova Series  is for the price range of USD 100,  Rocoo series  Is for the price range of around USD 200, STUDIO series  is For the price of usd 300.

with very similiar out put powwer and sound quality as the ROCOO BA, NOVA is only priced as USD 149, and ROCOO BA is USD 249.

The promotion price is only USD 80, not about 1/3 of the price of ROCOO BA,  I think if you are really into sound qulaity,  you can make your decision.

No player can satisfy you all of each person's requirments

We know that no DAP is perfect, but it is such a shame to miss out such a crucial feature for an audiophile quality player. It is like buying an overall decent and affordable car, but has no seats.

You analogy is very interesting, In fact, it has seats, just not really leather seats but fabric one.

We would  like to  analogy as the price for SANTANA, PLEASE don't expect it has 7.0 T engine. biggrin.gif

It is funny how you decide what is best for the customers here in head-fi and not observe what we actually deem best for ourselves. At this price range we expect something more. We never expect this to be as good as Studio V. We just expect it to at least match the features of other products at this price range.
With a micro sd slot, although will be more expensive, the sales will rocket to the sky simply because it is what many of us need.

Well in the end I cannot force my opinions. I'll just pass on this one and hope you learn something.

Hi Jack as you also mentioned this is aimed at a certain market, and the price reflects this. I respect this.

BUT.........So Jack is it too late to make changes to the unit so it CAN include SD slot?

It sure seems that you would definetly have a winner on your hands, especially as you have a way of getting such a great sound from your players.

if they did that why would anyone buy the Rocoo?

the idea is that the Nova is affordable

Im sure it wont be better UI, operating, sounding, build quality, features, warranty etc  than a sony e-series, clip, fuze, philips gogear, samsung...... all priced cheaper.... but we will see wont we?

I see that the pointed sticks have reappeared.

on my super lame and unsuccessful poll, out of 23 people, 7 didn't need a sd slot. (uber conclusive poll is conclusive)  so there might be a market for this.

i for one wouldn't really mind, if only manufacturers could forget how to use usb1.

on the way to sadness lesson one: take music from usb3 external drive, copy/past on dap, cry until you re bored.

we could also buy 10 8giga daps, this would solve both storage and battery life.

i m gonna leave now.
