simple question, have you played the files in the Pono World Application to make sure the files work?

Yes, PonoWorld will play them

Thanks for the help, guys.

I think Ableza is right...somethings wrong with the file.

I'll check and make sure there's only music in it and maybe even convert it with Foobar.

I gotta say I had fun yesterday putting the Canadian only album LONG TALL SALLY (by The Beatles)  together on PonoWorld including getting the cover off the internet.

The Hifiman HE-560 is a difficult to drive headphone. I can play them with the DX90, or the Geek Out SE, but they often don't sound great until I connect to my Ray Samuels HR-2, then they sound great.

Does anyone know if I can add a picture to a playlist?

Koukol, do you mean the album art displays in the PMW desktop app -- but it doesn't get transferred to the player

when you build the playlist?

When I create a "playlist" (in my PMW desktop app) of an album that was never released on CD (something like A YOUNG PERSONS GUIDE TO KING CRIMSON)

I would like to add a cover whether I can find the original vinyl cover or use some old picture of KC.

I'm wondering if I can do this and how?

I take it that once the file is on the Pono there's no adding a file like a picture.

Edit~OK, I noticed when a song plays from the playlist it's album cover shows up.

I THINK I have a way to have all the songs (from different albums) show the same cover I choose.

OK...I changed all the songs to the same cover however the cover shows up numerous times in the Album section.

I'll have to try and build an "album" outside PMW.

So my pono is on the way and I just received my balanced cables that would fit the HD700 or HD800... now I have to decide which pair I want to buy. I know the 700 is 150ohm and the 800 is 300ohm which makes me think the 800 would be harder to drive. I dont plan on using a amp so what do you guys recommend I go with? I do hear that the 800 lacks bass which is a big blow for me... hmm. anyone?

Owning both, I'd much rather listen to the HD800 as my main phone. It perhaps is a bit lighter in the mid-low bass than the 700, but it's not really too noticeable, and honestly if you send a straight 20 or 30Hz tone into the 800s they'll shake your head nicely; it's a relative response thing not a physical inability.

I concur with RRod. I don't think you'll find bass missing from the HD800.

and it completely runs fine on the pono with no amp huh?

Having read the last few posts, will the Pono power the HD800's decently with no amp?

I don't own a Pono; I was just commenting on the relative merits of the 700 vs 800. From what I've read people are driving the 800s just fine in balanced mode. They're really not ridiculously hard to drive; my little Magni doesn't even get to 12 o'clock even on my most dynamic classical tracks.

Would someone be kind enough to explain balanced cables?

Right now I use AKG 601's and Sony's MDR 900's. (I'm not rich)

As things are right now the Pono push the 900's fine but with the 601's the pono needs to be at full volume so i use them mostly with my little Dot III Amp.

Would putting a balanced cable onto the 601's make them more efficient?

Are the 601's good enough for the upgrade?

I'm considering this because the cord right now needs fixing as the left speaker stopped working.
