What made you go with this unit?  What's the specs on it?

I'm waiting for the Conductor to be released to see how it compares.

Soon he'll have the T1 LCD-3, HE-6, HD800. And the Dark Star will then be pretty accommodating. wink_face.gif

I think the DS is actually a fantastic amp, even for the LCD's. Yea, there are "better" accommodating amps for that 1 specific headphone,

but, it is in his budget..kinda....

The OP stated that he want's an amp for his LCD2's, no mention of any other headphones. So an amp for many headphones is not, at this time, required.

Personally my Master-6 sounds superb with HE'6,LCD2.2's and T1's and I would put it up against the DS anytime even if they were the same cost. In fact if the Master-6 had casework that costs as much as the Dark Star's and was made in US/EU then it would probably cost more than the DS

I see you hold Audio-GD products in very high regard.  Nothing wrong with that at all.

I've never used an Audio-GD product before, but I'm thinking hard about there DACs Master 7 and NFB 7.32.  They just change or upgrade so many times - If you but a product now it's outdated next month.  He is always coming up with something new.

I agree it can be frustrating with all the upgrades they do. Maybe they could restrict an upgrade to 6 month periods and then release an updated product with a number of upgrades included instead of one at a time.

However it does not mean what you already have suddenly does not sound as good. I have had conversation with Kingwa about the NFB-7 updates. The NFB7.1 is only a a very minor upgrade and he did not reccommend I purchase the board ($150) and have it installed. The NFB7.32 seems a bigger upgrade but still not a massive one.

The Master-7 would interest me as well, especially when their website states that its more 'dynamic & detailed' than any other Audio-gd DAC. The NFB-7 is already extremely detailed and dynamic so to be an improvment would be amazing. Unfortunately finances are needed in other areas at the moment & I really don't think I have the room for another compoment the size of the Master-7 especially as I am interested in the forthcoming Schiit statement amp which is likely to be quite big as well.

I think I'm going to let the Schiit stuff ride.  I just purchased the new GS-X and I'm having a Dynahi built (funds limiting) so I'm good on amps.  Of course I say that now until the Schiit and or the LF 2 comes out.  I want a tube amp some what but I can do with out it.

I'm a big fan of DIY amps - Gilmore and AMB stuff.  The Cavalli stuff is really taking off as well.

DACs is the next thing I should be focusing on.  Master 7, NFB 7.32, Lavry DA11.  The Audio-GD stuff has more features so that's a plus.

I would also recommend the audio electronics nighthawk.

I was not interested in the Schiit gear either but the Mjolnir seems to be an amp who's character I would like and has been getting generally very positive reviews. So the statement amp could be very interesting.

If I were to get an LCD3, would that change your recommendations?

On a more affordable but proved to be a good match for the Audeze it's the Centrance DACmini with the 1 ohm output option.

It will be a one month wait, but the added features seems interesting.
