Hey, I just wanted to say that you should test your emotiva with a mono signal and switch the left and right earcups to see if the imbalance stays. I have noticed by doing that that the imbalance is throughout the whole volume pot, not just 8:00 and below, though it is more noticeable from 8:00 and below. I have emailed Emotiva and will see what they say.

Edit: At around 7:30 I have the balance setting on my computer to 78 on left and 55 on right. At around 9:30 I have it at 24 left and 22 right

How would one go about doing this?

Well if this was a test question, as I've build two amps now that have potentiometers, I would guess just bypass it completely at hook the ground/left/right to the appropriate outputs. The potentiometers I'm used to are 6 pin ones.

That's correct, just be sure to maintain the corresponding input impedance with resistors on the RCA jacks if need be. Just double check with your DMM before and after removing the pot and see what you get :)

I heard it was hatched.  No?

So am I the only one that got an Emotiva with channel imbalance? And does anyone else's Emotiva have an off-center front plate? maybe just a few mm but still off center to the point that there is a bump on one side and its flush on the other side.

IDK I guess I'm just being picky here.

No imbalance and build issues on my Mini-X.

Very jealous :(

Turns out the slight off-center can be fixed with some firm pressure in the opposite direction. Had to press pretty hard, but it budged a little :)

Call Emotiva. You have a 5 year warranty on it, and they are VERY good with fixing issues and giving replacements.

So far I've sent them an email, we'll see what they say.

To coming owners: Has Emotiva sent your mini x yet (they should be in stock and shipped today for those who ordered last week)?

When I ordered mine, I didn't get tracking info until the day after the "next ship date".

No, mine is not shipped yet. I ordered last week but I wrote wrong shipping address so I called today and cancel my order and replaced new order. Hope they will dispatch today.

Thanks for quick replies. You see, I hope it can make it all the way over here before christmas (actually the 20th as that's the last date of delivery). They claim 2 days estimated delivery, though I really doubt it.

Since people have brought up a tube DAC as an alternative to a tube preamp, anyone have experience with the Aune T1? It's only potentially $109 on a certain crowdsourced website we mustn't speak of.

IMO, that DAC is not something you want to spend even $109 on. Go a little extra and get something worthwhile. Heck, the Emotiva XDA-1 will be better than that.
