Apple EarPods Thread - Page 23

Yep, the Earpods are a design classic and sonically wonderful.  I don't care what anyone else thinks, these just pop sweetly into my ears and deliver lovely spacious music into my brain.

I could certainly see why some people are fans. EarPods are decidedly low-to-mid range earphones, but are quite unique.

Haha, i was thinking of this last night, i shuffled thru my HP listening to my PM3 then my A73 and my OE2 then the apple earpods and i was like wow, they don't sound horrible, in fact i usually wear them to lay in bed listening to audiobooks or talks cuz they are comfy and fall out when i fall asleep...so they have a place in my life...can't deny that ;)

How are they low to mid earphones? That is just your judgement. Sonically, they best many much higher priced sets I have owned or tried over the years, when used in a portable out and about context. Which is exactly what they are designed for.

They are really handy when i am by the bedside and want to discretely listen to porn :veryevil:

Jokes aside, I love my EarPods. So much so, I contributed to the Telos Acoustics Fujisan kickstarter due to the sort of similar housing style.

Especially at the price point that they sell for, they definitely are sold in the lower-end of the range. Even though I do like them, more than a few comparisons state that superiors options can be found at the $30 price point these sell at. They were marketed as beating higher-end headphones, and certainly are not bad. Quite good for headphones included with other devices. It's great to find users who enjoy the sound

Hmm I do like the earpod, but I don't find them neutral. They are definitely on the bassy side, although that's what makes them quite enjoyable. Do I think they're the best IEM under $50? Probably not. I'll give that to the Pistons or LG Quadbeats. They do sound exceptional for the price though.

Oddly enough I've went back to using my EarPods from my Pistons mainly due to comfort. They are exceptionally comfortable -- more so than they look to be.

They are terrible for portable use since it has 0% isolation. Not sure what Apple was trying with these things. I got them for free with my iPhone so I can't complain, but they are never used at all.

Absolute nonsense. I live in Central London and use them to and from work each day. As do millions of people round the world.

Really? Even though I love the sound I stopped using them due to zero isolation and ear pain. I'm surprised to hear that earpods can provide isolation...

I thought the point of earbuds was to be able to be aware of your surroundings, that's why so many mobiles come with earbuds instead of in ear, that said, I sometimes have to lower the volume, other times I have to increase it, depending on the "noise"

So? It's still terrible to use for portable use. I won't use my Sennheiser HD800 in public for the same reason I won't use the Apple Earbuds.

I own many IEM's and I think I'm much better to judge how awful the Apple Earbuds is for portable use than people you see walking in the street.

The Earpods fit me really well naturally, and even better with the Earskinz fitted (I have cut the nozzle off which also improves sound quality in my view). Isolation is obviously not as good as with IEMs but it's nowhere near as bad as some suggest and especially with the Earskinz perfectly acceptible for my daily commute.

Indeed, I like the fact that there is some environmental awareness with them. IEMs are rather strange in that regard when you think about it - under what other circumstances do you hear music with no other ambient noise?

So comfort is great, fit is great, sound is great (I absolutely love the spacious sounds take these things produce) It's all great in my book.

The EarPods with a Digizoid ZO2.3 is really something
