Matrix m stage usb.

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my q701's

 

I'm guessing from the name of the item in question here, that you can indeed hook it up to a pc via usb?

 

Will this be all I need for some quality sound? Is the sound stage an amp and a DAC?

 

Or will I need to get a decent sound card or external DAC also?

 

(this is becoming expensive lol)

Correct: the m-stage usb contains a DAC, so that's all you need if you have a USB port to connect it to.

I got a new Matrix M-stage, since I found SPL's stuff is much cheaper here than in China, I decide to purchase a SPL Auditor, cause I also do some monitoring work. If you want a M-stage, you can contact me, sadly mine is without dac part, so it's just a headphone amplifier, I use it with my Motu audio express.

Does the m stage usb come with a usb cord? None of the listings for the usb version say anything about the usb cord in the bundle. Only a power cord. The input for it seems very strange.

What kind of usb cord would I need if it is sold separately?

It's a standard USB connector - same as you would find on a printer or scanner.

As far as I can tell the USB cable is not supplied. A standard USB v.2 compliant cable will do.
