Especially after the AK120 lol ;).

I've had a little time to do a little more time for an RDB+ v1 & 1Plus2 comparison - both off the Tralucent Uber cable. I must say that they both sound very very similar. The difference where I think I pick up is the v1 has a little more depth imaging (more headroom actually), whilst the 1Plus2 has got the soundstage.

But both IEMs benefit from higher grade cables over stock.

P.S. yes I know DX100 owners will say that there is a difference between the 3.5mm vs 1/4" sockets. I personally think they don't vary much to my ears.

By 'similar' are you referring to the sound sig per se, or the technical ability as well?

Sound signature. In terms of technical ability, I think they're both also very good. Detail is crisp and clear on both, airy & smooth in the trebles. The imaging on the RDB+ gives a good sense of depth and height. The width of the 1Plus2 is wider though. The 1Plus2 does seem to a little bit more agressive whilst the RDB+ is slightly more on the relaxing side (but not slow).

In terms of ergonomic, which one do you prefer, let say you want to use it outdoor, on a long flight, (with the same cable) etc?

From some of the photos, RDB+ looks bigger than 1plus2, so need some opinions which one will stay on the ears better when out and about.

Thanks

The 1Plus2 is smaller but rather strangely the RDB+ is a tad more comfortable.

The RDB+ has a slightly more bass decay than the 1Plus2. For me the bass decay works with jazz whilst the slightly tighter bass 1Plus2 is nice for some of the fast modern hip hop. Again, I'd like to emphasise slight (to my ears).

Thanks so much for your impression.

I reviewed some of their cables and the zippo amp of theirs HERE and i also have some great news about the RDB+V1. If your to buy it you can now get it as a full custom at no additional cost, just have to send in some impressions of course!

That looks mighty sweet, those are capped opamp, I wonder what they are?

I am in market for an amp to pair with the DD socket 1, hopefully this would be it.

But what happened to all the business cards? confused.gifwink.gif

I am sure that is just a prototype, I really hope they pick a cheap casing, I really don't like paying 1/5 of the total cost just for casing.

The case alone costs something like HK$20 and that could be found in one of these stores here in Hong Kong

Their group buy for the whole DIY kit (HK$900 a piece) should be ending next Wednesday

Interesting, I had a chat with the Rhapsodio about the cool4 a while back, they told me some insane price on this amp, ofcourse I passed. I had a quick chat with them a short while ago and they told me that the cool4 that they are working on is going to be different. Anyways I guess we would never hear the truth when it comes to dealing with any companies.

If it's an insane price then highly likely it's the OPA627SM metal caps.
