Rhapsodio - A Unique Place Indeed - Product Impressions Thread - Page 10

here's what I mean by distinct shape of the nozzle btw biggrin.gifLL (merlin left, rdb - right)

>as to why - no idea, probably uploaded the pics a while ago when rdb was pre prod and wanted to show alt design options

or maybe if you order a custom fit, they do use bores - idk.

They were identical.

You are reviewing the RDB+, a new product.

Anakchan reviewed the 1plus2 (rev2) which has been changed since the break up to a new product made in the Tralucents own place in comparison to them both using the same supplier.

Doesn't change my post about what they actually picture on their web site or that they are by available info, different now. Haven't heard either so it's not a qualitative post.

they mean well, we're just pedantic and crazy (yes they should...but you know, to 99.9% of people it doesn't matter biggrin.gif ). I was a bit bugged by the FB pics of what looked pretty different to what I had on hand ;D

No I haven't heard the 1+2. But all I see in this threads are people trying to prove they are not related / not related any more. Where are the sound impressions? Where are the sound comparisons? Man this is a joke.

On another hand, I read Anakachan's review on the 1Plus2 and hmm it does relate to my experience with the RDB+, where he said he desires a bit more mids, and we both agree on how detailed the respective IEM's can get. Got me interested in hearing the 1Plus2.

Ok if it will make you happy I can do that right now. When I listen to them side by side. The old 1Plus2 sounds muffled and lacking in detail in comparison. The bass sounds bloated or overly exaggerated in comparison. The Treble and mids sound as if they are straining in comparison to how the rev 2 1Plus2 sounds. It sounds as if the new 1Plus2 is working effortlessly and so natural at the same time in presenting it's detail. It's a laid back and neutral sound yet even more detailed than an IEM with a boosted frequency response. To be quite frank the new 1Plus2 will make many IEMs (if not most) sound muffled in comparison. I feel the older 1Plus2 sound stage maybe even bigger than the newer version (depending on the tracks) but placement isn't as precise as the newer unit. The revised unit has pinpoint accuracy in its sound stage, it's uncanny and the separation is crazy good on them. Also the speed of the revised unit is super fast. I mean stuff can happen so fast you can even have a hard time keeping up with the drivers, seriously. Plus with the newer unit it images in front of you. Where I can close my eyes and picture the band on stage in front of me.

When I don't compare them directly I still very much enjoy the older model. Its a fun and bassy signature that isn't lacking in detail IMO. As a matter of fact I still prefer the older 1Plus2 version to the Fit Ear 334 and AKG3003.

if your comparing the new 1p2 to the old one then your comparing the new 1p2 to the RDB. They have been reviewing the new RDB + which is also said to be better than the old RDB (1p2). Only 500 bones as well!

did anyone managed to order the rdb+ successfully?

I have placed an order for RDB+ however it was done directly through emails with Rhapsodio.

The design I have chosen is this one. (please do not quote the bores on this design as it's only the colour scheme and carbon fibre facplates I have chosen) You can select from preset UE ports or recessed Westone or Shure ports. (I'm not sure how much extra the recessed ports are)

I listen to many genre's with them including Britney Spears, I have a guilty pop fetish. tongue.gif I will say RDB+ are rather versatile, everything I've thrown at them has been accepted with open arms, they do have a sweet spot with acoustic genres, I'm yet to throw some rock or metal into the equation.

I'm going to get a better photo sometime soon, but I want you guy's to have a look at this beastie cable included in the tour

8 strands of OCC copper.

Make sure you zoom and check it out, the preset image size doesn't do it justice. Overall I enjoy this cable very much atm.
