Interesting if slightly cheesy video on development of Sony MDR-1R

Most of this video is your usual marketing crap but the "box" the headphones are connected to interested me.

 

It seems to be a computer connected EQ that assists in the voicing of the headphones, somehow Sony must be able to transfer the software "profile" to the hardware.

 

Love the look of these cans!

It's amazing to see so many people "in the industry" have no idea what they're saying about the process they're involved in. I guess that's the point though, right? If they knew all, they'd probably critique the headphone too much instead of just looking pretty.

Bringing this post back up because I am also wondering about that "box". I would also love a pair of the sliver/brown. So sexy!
