Best open headphone for rock and metal? - Page 8

LCD-3's are excellent for most varieties of rock (less atmospheric) and are a considerable upgrade to the LCD-2's in my setup. Having both side by side really shows what the 3's are capable of and it's very difficult to return to the 2's. I would scrounge for an extra couple hundred and go with the better transducer.

I really like my ad1000x for metal. They're not as harsh as the ad900x, and just present it very well for me. Also own MS2i and Magnums but I reach for my ad1000x the most.

For rock and metal the HE-6, easily for my tastes. Don't like the LCD2 at all for metal, and not much rock either for that matter.

I agree on the HE6s, I demoed for only a short while but I would love them with metal. Have the HE500s right now and no complaints.
