That would be kinda intersting. We don't see to much use of APU outside of game consoules do we, do the APUs even operate with the same core languages as the cpus? ie x64 x86 [or some Apple based what ever]

Idk, 6850 working just fine.  GTX 460 scrapes 15-20fps lowest settings.

BTW, its a beta for a reason lol.  The whole idea is to get bug reports and aggregate data >.>

+1

This is what I am hoping for too.  AMD has been better about their drivers though, I remember having to have vsync disabled on gnome with last year's fglrx drivers..

Indeed, I was having video tearing ALL through the 12.x drivers. when 13.3 hit my system the tearing stoped. And I'm talkinga bout tearing in all applications, even at like 12% load with vSync I had tearing :/

Yeah, sure.  Remember that closed alpha they had?  I don't buy into the whole "that's why it's a beta" bs.  Why would they release a beta that they ALREADY know doesn't work on 90% of PCs no matter how high end they are.  That's like saying Here you go this is a piece of schiit, now we already know it's a piece of schiit, just ignore that part -- what other things should we improve?

Tell you what if I didn't already pre order bf4 I wouldn't be doing it now.

I don't think you understand the complexity of releasing a game for the PC lol.  You sound like one those battlelog kids who uninstalled BF3 thinking BF4 Beta was the next big thing

You should be grateful you got a peak of the game, and are helping increase compatibility and optimization on your own hardware...  Sorry your expectations were too high beta first wave :3

lol I haven't played BF3 for a very long time, when the humble bundle came out the game became unbearable.  Pssh google "middle schooler develops video game" and there are pages of stories about middle schoolers doing it.  If a preteen child can do it then I'm sure a team of highly trained Swedes could do it.  (sarcasm) I do think it's pointless to release a beta for a game when it's not even ready.

I'd be happier off waiting until they actually have a *playable* beta and getting it months later.  I kind of knew it would suck after seeing all the schiity alpha stuff.  Everyone said the same thing then "Oh it's the alpha so this kind of performance is to be expected" Now everyone is saying the exact same thing.  Watch the first month of release everyone will be like "It's okay that I only get 20 fps, I mean the game just came out."  Mark my wurds.

EDIT: Can't be one of those beetlelog kids because I'm banned from it, can't even hoorah a status until September 2014. #Thuglife

Quite the remake they did on Shadow Warrior... Too bad they didn't keep the great Lo Wang speak and the rudeness from the first version.

"Whooooo Wanta Some Wang!" biggrin.gif

Yeah, origin bundle ruined esl haha.
You might think its pointless, but early betas help debunk bugs and faults faster than running dozens of in house test beds.  Its will ultimately be up to AMD and Nvidia to release optimization fixes, which might not land in a stable driver release until after BF4's release..

After about 3 weeks since trying to get the audio to play on Metro: Last Light, it finally works. It's so much fun. I really, really want to make a gameplay video series of it, but sadly I can't upload a video to YouTube...

XD

As for AC3, I was so pissed when I found out that the UI was Russian. Everything else was English.

Mantle, discussed earlier, is a 'language' that is upcoming for APU.  OpenCL is an industry standard that has decent traction in the scientific world as well as even support in Handbrake.

Nvidia can tear pretty badly; doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it; compositing manager on or off.  Vsync forced or not...appears to have a mind of its own.

Btw, do you know anything -- anything at all -- that might be a good replacement to Fraps? I tried it once a long time ago, and the filesizes were phenomenal. Compressing them was a hassle, too.

MSI afterburner...  I heard of it in this thread several months ago and I've been using it for GPU monitoring since. it does recording and screen caps too
