Ummm has anyone seen the GTX 880?  If they're claiming it at the price point of $500ish I might be picking it up.  Are there rumours on the specs aside from "On par with power of the 780Ti"?  The ORIGINAL Maxwell architecture was supposed to have a new ARM processor that was to increase the sheer processing overall exponentially...  but that fell through.  Now there is another theory that the "next chip" will be using multiple ARM processors?

Kind of looks like AMD is ramping up their next line of cards as well.  If they do everything they're claiming on doing with this new release, it might increase the performance as well and slam NVidia's chips - it would be really interesting to see.  :D

Any thoughts?

On par with the GTX780ti sounds awfully disappointing for a top end next generation card.

Now introducing the GTX 850Ti, with a whopping 5 cuda cores!

Windows Threshold.  I don't really know about any of the new virtual desktop features or other details.  All I know is that it's Windows Threshold.  Threshold.  Hmmm

  1. a strip of wood, metal, or stone forming the bottom of a doorway and crossed in entering a house or room.

  2. 2.
the magnitude or intensity that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, phenomenon, result, or condition to occur or be manifested.
"nothing happens until the signal passes the threshold"

You've got this:

Or this:

So which one is it?

The second one.

  • a level, rate, or amount at which something comes into effect.
"the tax threshold has risen to $10,492 of adjusted gross income"

Makes sense to me.

I thought I remembered seeing that meme with a similar caption before...

Anyway, this seems like an interesting thread. Might as well stick around when the other thread's not as active!

Still, those are some outrageous "was" prices for RAM:

Sigh, all this talk about high end graphics cards, and here I am with my 5 year old Radeon HD 5770...

And I already thought I felt inadequate with my lone Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 4 GB while everyone's packing a 780 or better, usually in SLI and watercooled and everything...

I did have a taste of two of those 760s in SLI for a short while, which had most benchmarks beating a single Titan.

All that does is make me want two 780 Ti or Titan Black cards in SLI to double up on THAT level of performance and ensure that the likes of maxed-out ACIV and Star Citizen will still be humming smooth at 60 FPS or more. A single one of those cards could probably do it at the usual 1920x1200 I run at. Only problem there is, well, I'm not rich.

Even that probably won't do much for DCS World being CPU-bottlenecked to hell as usual, though. Still can't seem to exceed 21 FPS in this one benchmark mission for some reason, at least until I look away from the other A-10Cs taxiing onto the runway, but what good does that do me? Yet other people on weaker hardware claim better performance results in the same benchmark thread. What gives...

You aren't alone, my friend. Single 3-year-old iGame GTX650 Ti Boost 2GB, and it works fine with BF4 and all sorts of other games. Glory to the octa-core!.

I'm thinking of getting a triple curved monitor setup, but I might need to upgrade my card then.

...they would all form a circle...

Yep, that's kind of the idea. Curved monitors would be more appropriate for multi-monitor setups than flat panels due to their curved nature.

I meant that more as a joke than anything, but I see your point.
