That's what is was! I was thinking of the term used, but I couldn't think of it...

Since I play on PC I am not really concerned about the Xbox dpad.  I plug in my Saturn controller / virtua stick via adapter and I am good to go ;)

genesis/saturn dpad is my favorite.  Do not know why people preferred the snes dpad, was garbage imo.  Its gotten even worse with time, unlike the sega.

(Concerning monitors) I stopped caring about 120Hz. CRT monitors were great in this regard, but TN/PLS monitors are not as good.  There are distortions that were never observed on a CRT at 120+Hz.

I installed the Watch Dogs 'E3 patch' yesterday and whipped it up to Ultra settings (I played on auto detect Medium with slight variational changes), and what do you know.

The game runs pretty stably. There was a very small performance hit in running on Ultra with the E3 patch. Most of the momentanious lag comming from turning corners very fast, or whipping the mouse obviously.

Not bad

The graphics at night with rain and the sea though

OMFG, amazeballs.

And still, I am here, waiting for an AMD driver patch to allow me to run Wolfenstein.

I've tried every variantion of the graphics settigs there are, read online guides, and did Google foo. The lowest settings at 1080p still run like total crap. Massive lag spikes rather than real lag keep occuring, and the issue with enemies moving dependently by FPS (I mentioend it a while back) makes me motion sick.

Fair enough, but don't go saying that "real games" don't have CPU bottlenecks.

Then again, calling DCS a "game" would probably piss off the community. It's a hardcore flight sim through and through, unless you're using a Flaming Cliffs-level aircraft (simplified controls and systems) or Combined Arms. That's the rivet counters for you...

Anyway, if some of my preferred titles weren't so CPU-intensive, I wouldn't have the itch to overclock the hell outta Haswell. I just gotta do something about the heat problems that I shouldn't be having on a custom water-cooling loop. Maybe delid this 4770K or take a chance on the 4790K and sell off the older 4770K and my spare Maximus VI Hero board together.

As for gamepads, while everyone might be gushing over the Xbox One gamepad, I still think I'd rather have a DualShock 4, especially once they get that trackpad working as a mouse. It would be like having a Steam Controller that didn't completely suck at things that work better with conventional analog thumbsticks.

I really want to try a pair of EVGA Titan Blacks in SLI, my rig went 295X (it's very quick) w/ an LG 34" 21:9 monitor-beast while on vacation, and I was told they'd actually be slower at my native res. Well, I looked it up and it's true, according to benchmarks. So tell me, when did Nvidia slip behind AMD? blink.gif

I have a GTX 780 FTW edition and it handles every game that I have ever thrown at it. I love it.

lol they called iems headphones.  "SUPER BASS"  I remember when my sister bought a 32gb micro sd on ebay which was like class 0.0125 and couldn't even play back mp3s they sent her two because they knew how trash they were.

I wouldn't call those fake beats. The style of the headphones are imitators of the Beats earphones, but the marketing and packaging doesn't try to emulate ANYTHING of it. Props to them.

Um. I tried them out earlier. Yeah. Super veiled. That is all.

I didn't immediately notice any when messing around with a Samsung 2233rz that the local Micro Center had on display a few years back, unless you're counting the usual TN flaws.

That said, there's no way I'd trade my Sony GDM-FW900 for any 120 Hz LCD on the market right now. 1920x1080 at 100-105 Hz is still plenty adequate, and with far better image quality to boot.

It's hard to explain. It's probably a preference thing. My Korean monitor does 120Hz, but I have no idea how that affects the life of it.

Afaik CRT can paint the screen significantly quicker. I think that is where the issue is, considering most 120Hz are TN.

http://www.pcgamesn.com/dead-rising-3/dead-rising-3-crawls-out-dirt-september-5th-no-framerate-cap

So Dead Rising 3 won't have a 30fps cap, and will now feature a 60fps cap with an option of at your own risk for higher.

But the thing I cared about are the PC requirements

http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=8087&game=Dead%20Rising%203

Minimum Requirements for this game is a 7870 GHz Edition or a R9 270x or GTX 570? Cards that only a fraction of PC gamers (with dedicated cards) have and use? Dayummm....

The mass majority of gamers that play on PC run on rigs that are pretty schitty. STEAM hardware and other surveys showed most computers to be using on die dedicated GPU's with Intel HD's being very popular.

And here we have Dead Rising 3, requiring (officially), at minimum, a GPU that costs around $170-$240 right now, and something only a bare fraction meet?

Dayum, that must be some HD mutha trucking Zombies at full uncompressed resolution generated at over 200 units per time on screen with all the other schiit.

^^ Yeah it's strange to think how the majority of PC gamers don't have fancy rigs when most people on here and irl (that I know at least) have decent PCs.  It's just like the average KD in battlefield being 0.46.  I don't know anyone online or irl that is that bad at video games, but the average person is.

Also don't know if this is news or not but GTA 5 is for sure coming to PC and Rockstar "Promises Enhancements For GTA 5 On PC" as articles say.  I understand that watch dogs came out on ps3 as well but god does it look like schiit.  I hope because the game is going to be developed for next gen consoles and PC exclusively that it will look better than that pile of poop.

Also, I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the Steam Summer sale yet.
