I still regret buying the CherryMX Brown version of my plank.

I recommend people pick up a mechanical switch test kit before buying a keyboard. I just ordered the $15 version Coolermaster sells online. They send you a $15 voucher towards any of their keyboards when you get the kit so you only pay shipping on a small component (mine was $1.60) for peace of mind. I'll be sure to see if a) I like any Cherry MX mechanical keys and b) if I like any, which I like best to get the right switch.

Yeah, if I knew about the test kits 8 months ago, I would've chosen the Blues. I already knew how the Blues felt, but I was blinded by a Daily Deal.

With all of this keyboard talk.  I found this randomly sitting in our shop like 5 months ago and took a picture of it:

Can't read it, but in the corner it says "Made for Windows 98" in the top corner.  It's funny that all this keyboard talk come up now, some one actually opened this unsealed keyboard today and started using it for no reason.

Also found this pretty interesting "Steam Stats: 36% of Registered Games Unplayed"

I wish.  It's the metals shop at school.  3 lathes, 3 mills, 2 drill presses etc...  Once summer comes around and school ends I might get a job at a place that repairs phones/tablets/computers though.

Got my mini-ITX rig up and running

The problem I spent 30 minutes trying to fix turned out to be AMD screwing up displayport support on their newest stable combo release......yep

I did all the other shorter things first before I sat down and did a fresh driver uninstall and install....and boom. Working now.

Case fans on sale

4 for $10 and are of decent quality and type. Fluid Bearings, Xigamatek brand, eXtreme Silent series.

45.2 CFM w/ 20.2dBA @ 120mm (mehhh)

But hey, $10 without the need for a MIR with free shoprunner is pretty good.

Seems alright, after going all 140mm on my big PC, I would try anywhere I can to make sure my cases support 140mm, they really do more with lower RPM and it's glorious.

...unfortunately my mITX case only has 120mm fan support. Oh well.

I remember when I was talking to my friend about PC parts because I was explaining to him how my PC would be better than other pre-built PCs at the price point because I built mine myself. Right when I was talking about my first part (GPU), he replied, "I don't know what you're talking about.". I feel so lonely. I wonder if my $500 PC can outperform his $1000 iMac!
