Hope you don't stall on homework here like I do. tongue_smile.gif

Oh dear, we scared someone away.
Sorry for COMPLETELY DESTROYING your young age record here, but BOOM! Take that, ACE!!! And no, I start and finish my HW on time, (almost) always.

The result of my writting is based on that chain of thought. You aren't following the process of what it is I mean correctly. I'm refusing your statements because they are not directly appliable to what it is I mentioned in the first place. You wouldn't consider a best cookie recipe for an award in a show that only asks for pie recipe's would you?

Defqon didn't say "OCZ has a 20% failure rate", he just said to stay away from OCZ and Gskill because in his experience, they have an overly high return/RMA/repair/whatever rate.

Yes Panda, you're right, there are a billion factors we need to consider before we can ascertain the true failure rate of a product, but the thing is, that information simply isn't 'knowable' to people like us, only the higher ups will ever have a clue. However, common sense dictates that the failure rate of a product will be a function of it's return/whatever rate, so I think first hand experiences will be quite valuable and can't be dismissed so easily, and that information is knowable.

What he said wasn't paradigm shifting, so I'm not sure why you feel the need to nitpick his original statement. I've known you long enough that you're not actually nitpicking, you're just stating some information on curve fitting in statistics and blah blah blah about perception and correlation vs causation. It's just that from the tone of your earlier posts, you came across as a little bit overly aggressive towards Defqons original statement, and that's what may have sparked this debate. I think you're being overly pedantic. :p

You know, my brain exploded when I finally discovered that taking an arrow in the knee meant that you got married. I've played all of Skyrim thinking that they actually took an arrow to the knee. :p

No cheap used 3930k's, I was thinking 4820k for now and then hexacore few months after when I get more cashola. I do have a local offer to guy for a 3960x for $600, it is tempting. Just won a Rampage IV extreme last night, the rest of my rig is complete however.

Go for it; that's about the price you'd look at paying for the entry 6 core.
