PC Enthusiast-Fi (PC Gaming/Hardware/Software/Overclocking) - Page 30

Oh yeah, I also set up my SSH server, so all I need to do is setup Putty at school... I saved it to Dropbox so I'll be able to access it if the site to download Putty is blocked. xD Now I can finally Head-Fi at school! For some reason Head-Fi's blocked but Reddit isn't... frown.gif

Played Mirrors Edge, maxed out at that res, it looks GREAT!

It looks great on most computers. Solid textures and not too too detailed structures (on medium settings). And what not.

I know, I was getting screen tearing even with downsampling vsync and everything maxed! Maybe Force a higher AA in Nvidia control panel?

Try it. But forcing these options in control panels have often lead to severe drops of FPS.

Yup, it gets around 25 now with the res at 2560 x 1600 and everything maxed in Nvidia. biggrin.gif

Oh, you got it working? Any idea what you were doing wrong?

Not to brag, but on Mirror's Edge at my resolution and 8xAA, I got a constant 60FPS. biggrin.gif

It's really a shame I've grown to hate the game. I found myself wondering why someone thought it would be a good idea to base a game entirely around most games' worst mission type: chases.

Also, Whitecrow, when you get Mafia 2 installed: Rip through the streets in first person in a car. It seriously looks photorealistic.

Oh, with 16x AA I get way over 60 fps, causing screen tears, even with the games Vsync on (must have been coded badly). I got 25 FPS with the 32x aa, fxaa, etc... at 2560 x 1600! It looked absolutely fantastic though! Too bad fast paced games suck with low fps. frown.gif

Ah, gotcha. Now that I think about it, I've never really used higher than 8xAA. I think when I first got my card I tried 16xAA, but I couldn't see any difference at 1440x900. Maybe now it will make a difference.

God, this game just looks too incredible.

I like it, but it gets old after one play through. I can play it like once a year.

LETS TRY THIS WITH CRYOSTASIS!!!! oh wait, I cant get that game to run on low....never mind.

Dayum, looks nice. runs well. a steady 30 frames drops to around 20 in heavy combat. Keep in mind I'm running 8Xaa, V sync, the works.

Runs about the same for me. It's a little surprising that framerate takes such a huge hit in high resolution. At 1440x900, if I took off V-Sync and set framerate to unlimited, I'm sure I'd score well over 60.
