The 3570k would have a lower TDP due to lack of hyper threading most likely, it adds a lot of heat. About the reseat, you don't mean de-lid the cpu by taking the heat spreader off? From everything I have read, it's too hit or miss as far as temp gains for it to be worth the effort in my opinion.
yeah but the 4670k doesn't have hyperthreading. tongue.gif and yeah I meant delid... There seems to be a lot safer method including a vice and having something flush with the spreader and hammer it until the spreader gives.

If you don't need overclocking, buy the Xeon E3-1230V3. It's basically an i7 without overclockability and an iGPU. They're slightly more expensive than an i5 and worth the money. Just check to see if your mobo supports the chip.

If you want to take a hammer to it, you are more brave than I wink.gif

heh I already have a 3570k laying around since my last mobo died so I've just been using my dad's PC but he wants it back so I need a new motherboard, not processor. wink.gif

The wires look good to me, after it's built, you'll rarely look in there anyway. Unless you go to LAN events I've never really subscribed to doing the custom sleeving or anything like that....but it's a hobby, some people do it just for fun. I don't have that kind of patience!

I couldn't agree more.  My first case was a terrible raidmax and it had no room for wire management so I didn't care about it but it was easy  enough with this case.

My cheap Enermax Ostrog doesn't have the sideways HDD for some reason.

I've got 400GH coming online next week for bitcoin. I'm renting, the power cost here in CT means that I can't really mine here and I'd lose money on pretty much anything but btc.

Ahh gatcha

I'm at Univ....so the power is free :veryevil:

Ahh, bitcoin, that stuff is hard to mine with regular computers nowadays.

Litecoin and Dogecoin seem to be really popular in the hipster network of the USA right now. Especially with how high Dogecoin is inflating. I hope it doesn't smash down -_-

I dediced to mine with my desktop. I get about 650Kh/s :p

Is that even worth? Even with all those GPU's, can GPU's still keep up with the ASCI rigs? Especially considering how much ******* power those 7950's will suck up and the efficency of those cards at the now more difficult bitcoin?
