PC Enthusiast-Fi (PC Gaming/Hardware/Software/Overclocking) - Page 262

So one of my other friends had gotten malware/spyware on his laptop. His PC got infected with Win32/ZBot, i wiped his hard drive, since he had other bloatware and random files/programs. So I thought that i removed it already, but only partially. I didn't notice until after some time. I had already connected his laptop to my router, but I've been womdereing, if its infected his laptop and he connected to the WiFi, could it harm other computers in the network or the network itself? I'm worrying about this because the internet's been going out for all connected devices for maybe 5 minutes at a time. It's happened twice already and I've never had this happen before my friend came over, so I kinda linked it to each other. Thanks for any help.

IT depends on if the virus is one that will use the network to infect others obviously -_-

Yeah, of course I'll get the CPU with the latest if its the same price. I just happened to grab the link of the first i3 CPU that popped up on newegg.

I won't need a mobility platform like this yet for a while so its going to be on hold.

I'm thinking of using an old laptop's LCD with a LCD controller board. Debezel the screen and attack it to the case, and stick the controller board inside the case so its internally connected. But meh, thats another day and year.

So far, since this is a mobility platform for me, it is really cheap.

The RAM, GPU, and HDD will just be taken out of my main system for when I go on extended home vacation. I could obviously take my PSU as well but hell no am I cable binding that schiit all over again. It's fairly simple to find 500W Seasonic Rebrand PSU's for $20-$25 during deal times anyway. Hell, I might not even need 500W but F it. Even if its a Seasonic Rebrand, a lower PSU may not have enough amps on the 12v rails for the 7870 GHz I'm sticking in and possibly overclocking. But then, the PSU may be too big, ehh.. I'll deal with that when the time comes

I got bored of Starbound because of constant character wipes and such (which they've toned down but you still need to make new characters to get the better balancing). I'll wait until it's out of beta.

I checked around, but it never gave a clear answer. Obvious reason why I asked. -_-

Dude that's amazing. When I read he planned on using the LCD from a laptop I thought "How's he going to do that?"  I had zero idea those LVDS converters existed.....

After seeing that "all in one build" having a system that can push very playable frames (on low low low settings) all in a tiny little package like that seems very attractive now.  I kinda felt like the mini PCs were pointless before with normal monitors and keyboards but that thing is just cool.

SFF is definitely starting to become a lot more popular, especially since manufacturers are now pushing out higher quality mATX and mITX boards.

It's not what I'd call a "wipe" but they recommend you create a new character so the new world has all of the new balancing they've put in.

true,

either way it's a boat load of fun, although I've not played terrairia so the exploring is still fun for me. even if I'm crafting the same items again and again

I love Starbound's appearance and the ability to mine several blocks w/ the pickaxe instead of just 1 block like in Terraria. Much more convenient.

I'm really looking forward to playing Starbound after watching the trailer on Steam, but I'm still stuck with Terraria for now. The alien worlds thing is a nice feature tho, and getting to sleep in a bed? Btw, could you sit in a chair? I've been really hyped about sitting in chairs. Honestly, I've seen many of this stuff since I started checking out Steam more often. Other than Starbound, I saw this other game that also looks like Terraria. The genre is really catching on now thanks to Minecraft.

LOL, if you are on Windows 95 God help you :p

Could affect the router if you have the default administrator password intact, very unlikely though.  You should not worry about it.

I think I was able to sit in a chair. Much better interactions with furniture than in Terraria where just right clicking the bed = set spawn point and really does nothing else.

In a sense that's still the same, except it's more dynamic than static, since furniture (and other objects) really only have 1 function anyways (and it would probably get a bit more confusing if they had more than 1 function besides taking up space).

Well, an awesome function in Terraria would be the option of picking up those useless chairs in NPC housing and fighting with them. (With a overhead bashing animation with wood [or whatever material] splinter particle effects)
