Amazing deal

What do you guys say about $80 for Samsung Evo 840 120GB?

I can't seem to find any really good SSD deals right now :/

I got a bit of a question for you guys how good is that deal from Frys? Would something in the $400-500 range for a Motherboard+CPU be much much better? I want to upgrade my system but there are so many options.

It's a superb deal, you'd have to spend at least $400 to get anything significantly faster, and even then, you'd only be gaining hyperthreading (which may or may not be significant depending on your usage) and a marginal ~5% improvement in IPC.

A 4770k from microcenter is $250, and a decent motherboard would be in the ~$150 mark.

I'd jump on that deal, and spend the savings on a graphics card bump if you do plan on playing games.

Awww man if you posted that a couple months ago I would have jumped on the intel bandwagon.  I payed $40 more for a fx6300 and a (probably much better 990fxa ud3 mobo) but I guess that doesn't mean much if you don't OC.

Is that a black Friday deal only or can I go right now? I have a HD7950 which should be good enough for me. I plan on gaming a lot more on PC now since I don't think I'm getting a next gen system.  I currently have a Frankenstein old HP HPE-450f which is still performing pretty well for what it is (can run pretty much any game Ive tried on at least the second highest setting but mostly max on everything). Id need to get a new Windows key unless I can get it through school too which sucks.

I think that's on too. I saw an Evo but didn't look at the price.

Really good, it's an unlocked part and a Z77 board too.

Go on Frys.com and see for yourself all the sales they got going.

BF deals for CPU's and motherboards were pretty good but I found that pre BF deals on SSD's, Memory, and Flash based material to be better. GPU's from AMD of the 7k class had better pre BF deals as well.

Dayum

Now I'm left with no SSD because there isn't an actual deal at all :(

Oh and the power button of the Z5 is broken. What a world...what a world

OCZ 's gone bust. Sad, since I liked their RAM and then their SSDs.

Toshiba is in the process of buying their assets.  I do not think the details have been made public yet, but depending on how they buy them out, OCZ branded SSDs may wind up super cheap!

So now Toshiba's inheriting PC Power & Cooling...not sure how I feel about that at this point.

Meanwhile, that Fry's deal might have been tempting if I didn't already commit to a $200 i7-4770K and a bundled $130 open-box Maximus VI Hero board earlier. God, I love living within driving distance of a Micro Center store...though it is baffling that they have their best i7-4770K price BEFORE Black Friday and not during it. Not that I'm going to complain!

I've managed to stabilize this system at 4.5 GHz core/4.4 GHz uncore for at least two hours of Prime95 28.1 small FFTs...the weird thing is, the core voltage is still at 1.28Vcore under FMA3 load like it was before. This system still confuses me with what's making it stable or unstable...but at least I can hit that solid 1 GHz overclock.

Just got the Seagate Series 600 240GB SSD for $109

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6935/seagate-600-ssd-review/3

Very positive reviews all along etc etc.

The Corsair Neutron 240GB with worse performance dropped to $160 yesterday and this ranks up prettynicely so I guess its quite a good deal finally

Hey guys what do you think my course of action is?

The Z5 case came with a broken power button. :( The switch itself broke and snapped off just after I tried to press it.

The 'switch' itself was stuck and wouldn't push down. I pushed down a bit hard and the whole switch assembly(almost looks like how a mech keyboard works) snapped off(it was only hot glued by the bottom of the switch)

I am leaving in a few days and so I can't really order a new case and fix it that way :(

I can rewire it so that the reset switch is the on switch.

What do you guys think?

Ouch, I'd just rewire it until you can get in touch with whoever makes it to send you another power switch.

If you need to manually reset, just flick the switch on your power supply.
