Flash games just lag on everything.

I still cannot run Runescape without lag.  Nostalgia is strong with that game...

Lol, my friend still is so clueless. I'm telling him to just build the PC, but noooooo, he wants some crappy Cyberpower first, with a 610, then he found a better one with a 7750. With the 610, he said, "I don't want amazing graphics, just decent." I facepalmed.

if you get a Lenovo refurb with an i7 3770 for 350 and add a gpu, you'll be getting a better value than building from scratch haha.

So I just got a Corsair 800D (under $150 shipped, at that!) and switched out cases for my old Q6600 box, though it's really intended for my next system. I was tired of seeing that radiator dangle outside anyway.

While I'm at it, I threw the GTX 480 back in for the hell of it, albeit back on the crappy stock HSF which I re-installed after it really started acting up. (Besides, I don't have enough tubing available to reach it at the moment. Gotta order some more.)

...What the hell? It actually works again! It's like I own Schrodinger's GTX 480 at this rate, I don't even know what to believe anymore.

It does make my planned next build a hell of a lot easier, though, the one this 800D was meant for. It's slowly coming together...

For a second there, I thought you said 900D and I was like, "Holy crap, what do you need that for?"
And on the topic of Shrodinger, just don't look inside your case and nothing'll happen (if you know what I mean)

Hey, if I could get a 900D for that much, I would! More radiator space!

But at the usual prices, no. Too expensive, and at that price range, I'd go Caselabs.

When my dad and I were walking around Fry's Electronics, we saw the 900D and I'm like, "Look at that." My dad's reaction was a wtf face. I could fit in that monster.

Should I go with a M-ATX case for my next build? Are they small and stable enough to be put on a desk? If so, I plan in getting a Fractal Design Mini or are there other good-looking/performing Mini-ATX cases?

Silverstone FT03. My personal favorite M-ATX design. All aluminium design, low desk footprint, very stylish.

Also, wrt the 900D...want. It's also still far, far, far cheaper than importing a Caselabs over from the US.

I've seen the Silverstone and it seems that the cooling design is pretty "cool" (get it?) too. But my questions are: how the price will stack up with a mid-tower . The upgrgadability, and would it be able to fit a let's say, a GTX760. Finally, will it tip over from a shake of my desk? I don't want my entire system to fall onto the ground from my troublesome cousins or clumsy friends. (Also a side window would be a bonus) THANKS!!! Sorry for all the questions. redface.gif

Actually if I do go with a Micro-ATX I see the Corsair 350D...

Same. And for those who wonder if the 90 degree motherboard orientation change makes a difference in temperatures, absolutely not. Convection is so weak it has no affect on this. In the words of a wise overclock.net air cooling guru, "Air goes where yu push it."

So yes, it's simple, low footprint design is what makes it so awesome. I want to make myself an acrylic panel + alu frame version to make it slightly bigger so it's not as cozy but makes it a bit easier on my life.

It should be quite heavy so it shouldn't tip over and it can hold fairly long graphics cards.

That is an enormous mATX case as far as I know. It looks fairly nice although quite a few design flaws, the most obvious being the drive bays which annoys basically EVERYBODY. Some people have made new faceplates for their stuff and have fixed that issue. Looks awesome when the issue is fixed.

I originally liked it and then...meh.

I don't know why I don't really like Corsair. Probably because I feel like their Dominator RAM is overpriced (Mushkin, G.Skill, etc. make RAM that is just as good, if not better) and the fact that most of their power supplies are rebrands. Great company though. Awesome customer support (and their representative over at Overclock.net is amazing).

Modded FT-03(dunno if they have the window as an option, but it's easy to do). That's a WCed GTX titan in there.
