This is beginning to be useless to the thread.

I am sorry, I'll let you get back to the seriousness of GPU temperatures in MineCraft then... biggrin.gif

This thread has slowed down a bit.

Alright people, i5-4670k vs i-3570k vs fx 8350 for next gen gaming, GO!  (The mITX motherboard I selected was FM2 not AM3+ frown.gif)

Current bet: i5 3570K. The i5 4670K offers negligible performance increase at a higher price, and FX-8350 is much worse in single-threaded or badly parallellized workloads. However, because most titles will be multi-platform, and both consoles have a 8-core AMD APU, games MIGHT start utilizing those, so the performance difference between i5/i7 and FX-8000/9000 might decrease. Operative words being might, and decrease.

If you have the money, I'd always go for the more modern gen. Probably the intel.

It's Minecraft, not MineCraft?!?!?

Actually, it doesn't really matter whichever way you put it, though I'm much more used to simply 'Minecraft.'

I've been playing that game for a while, and I've experienced 1.4 to the new 1.6. Love the new horses, btw. tongue.gif

And I don't mean to be the grammar Nazi that I am (albeit not exactly an expert at it), but your question marks are actually not acceptable in a statement.

...it is a statement and not a question, right? biggrin.gif

First of all, trust me, I'm also a grammar Nazi, and I've also been playing Minecraft since 1.2. And yes, it was closer to a statement.

Oh? 1.2 has the Adventure Update, right? Or was it 1.2.x?

What do you think of 1.6, by the way?

Oh yes, I'd also like to say "Hello, comrade!" tongue.gif

...Wait, that's a Communist thing, right? Never mind.

C'mon guys.  Let's not argue over the capitalization of MineCraft versus Minecraft.  Both are accepted.  Let's get back on topic.

4670k is $20 more than the 3570k and 8350 for me.  In terms of motherboards, my local Microcenter has a great offer for a FM2 motherboard, but not AM3+..

Need a mITX, and intel is roughly $70 more for an inferior board.  This one looks decent:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/417349/GA-Z87N-WIFI_LGA_1150_mini_ITX_Intel_Motehrboard

Will be $99 as I plan on getting the CPU with it.

In terms of overclocking, I doubt I will be increasing voltage, if anything I will be undervolting.

For mini-ITX you pretty much have to go with your Intel choices.  I have yet to see a 990 in that size.

Yup.

And again I will mention, take care of the CPU cooler size in height and width with the Node 304 so as not to block the PCI-e slot! I have the previous version of that Gigabyte board.

:-p
