This has nothing to do with PCs, but yesterday, my friend wanted to compare his Beats Solos to my M-80s to see which one was "louder". Facepalm.

80c is perfectly fine under full load, how are you testing it?

Let me know your clocks and voltages, and I can compare it to my 7970's.

Room temp is 75 f idle temps are 36 c and just typing this it's at 40 c

I'm just playing BF3 after 20-30  minutes the peak is 80c.  This only seems weird because with out changing anything (with the stock thermal  compound before even) the max temps after hours of playing would be 68-69c.

Before anything weird started my core clock was 1125MHz and mem at 1575MHz with the voltage unchanged I was also using the auto fan settings the never went faster than like 80%.  Now after even replacing the stock compound and bringing the core clock down to 1010MHz and manually setting the fans to 92% my temps are still at 74-80c

Could it be my GPU fans dying? They don't seem be any louder (still dead quite up to 85%) FPS and performance has still been just as good as it was before.

I remember when I was younger, the Ati Saphhire GPU boxes would creep me out. (The robots, etc.)

Hey guys, a quick shout-out to y'all:

OP bowei006 just joined in the Groups bandwagon, and made a thread for everyone on this here PCE-Fi thread. You could join in [here]

Right now I have absolutely no idea what the groups thing is for other than the fact that it will make interactions between suppsoed "club members" much easier and more streamlined. I just happened to find out about this earlier, so I joined in too.

Join now! (or something like that)

Can you get furmark and let me know the temps after 2-3 minutes? Just use the burn-in test.

My ambient is just about the same and it hits ~80C in furmark.

It might be the fan dying, but I'm not sure how quiet your card is supposed to sound. If it doesn't go past ~85C (the cards can handle 90Cish), and is still stable on auto-fan, I wouldn't worry about it. Since you changed the thermal paste, there still might be a couple of degrees of improvement as the paste settles in.

Meh, UAE is not as great as people make it out to be.  I lived in the ME for 6 years, surprised to see how they can afford the import duties for their cars :S

Imo, the standards of living are better in UAE/Jordan/KSA than in the US.  I really hate the US lifestyle, hard to explain if you haven't lived in another country for awhile.

Get thermal cleaning compound, clean off the paste 100%, then use the alcohol.  You'll be surprised how much extra comes off

Also, the MX-4 compound I mentioned earlier may help reduce the temperatures by a little.  Only a small amount is needed.  Might be on sale still haha

But yeah, let me emphasize small amounts.  You really need as little as possible, as thermal compounds do not transfer heat as well as metal > metal.  They are there to fill the gaps biggrin.gif

Mine got up to 84C after 3 minutes... is yours OCed at all?

Edit: yep I made sure to use a small amount in a line across the dye.

So I got the Benq 120hz monitor suss'd with my 1440p monitor ... and I have to say ... really .. having spent a great amount of time playing 1440p, 1st Person games .. Skyrim, Metro 2033 ... 120hz really is noticeable .. sure, it's at 1080p .. but still .. it's just so liquid and buttery and smooth.

And so I think I'll keep the Benq 24" ... and just trade off when I'm gaming and when I'm not.

Cause having worked with both? The Samsung 850D is light years ahead in color/contrast ... just not so fast of a FPS monitor (but it works bad ass with Torchlight 2!!!)

And I got this rad ass dual monitor set up .. and so ... (why not spend more time with my girl friend in Skyrim? Huh? Why not?) I shopped the following picture, but still .. funny as **** .. now I can have her at 1440p *and* 1080p!!

LOL ...

...

HA! That wasn't all, he was like, "FINE, we'll compare how 'clear' they are."
And then I told him about the solid build quality of my 'phones, and lets just say he challenged that too.

Maine.... Damn I'd love to live in Maine up on the TR90, or as they say the ole "Tee Ahhr"

I'd camp outside of Stephen Kings house till I was granted an Audience with the exalted author to discuss the Dark Tower movie... biggrin.gif
