You have a crappy sized ssd, but it's an ssd with more space than mine (I run a 64gig as my boot...), time to get my hitmen.

... There's some stuff... I could take your CPU cooler, SSD, and hard drive, but the problem is, I don't know what "stuff" I'll find in your drives.

Oh yeah, your sound card too.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news man, but it's upgrade time.

I;m actually satisfied with the space.  Using 61/118 on Win8.

Not really a leap compared to onboard.

No need, I've stated more than once I need an upgrade lol.

The performance I get has been more than satisfactory for League of Legends and BF3.

I will try to hold out another generation, but it is becoming harder.  Would like to see where 4K, ReRAM, and the CPU race take us.

I mean, if smartphones will be able do raytracing in real time, hell, what will a PC be able to do?  I'd rather sit another transitional generation out.

What case? It's pretty tidy imo. 6/10. Most Pc's I see are like 1/10 with the cable tidying *cough*bowei*cough*

Still perfectly serviceable. Nothing worth upgrading for if you're not needing the extra CPU power or running higher than 1080p.

You need some 512GB SSD cheesecake.

Meh. The Xonar DG isn't bad, but it's not fantastic either. great value, but doesn't compare to an external DAC or Asus' higher end offerings.

I don't see ReRAM coming out anything the next two generations, but 4K PC monitors should be at consumer friendly (under $5k) prices in the next year or two. The current crop apparently have disappointing colour replication. Sitting out the next gen is probably a good idea, at least until the next gen console games start to push hardware again.

The Xonar STX is awful.  I've heard better audio from flagship motherboards lol.  The DG was good for my first budget buy, occasionally use it with Stereo Mix / Virtual Audio cable for Xbox 360 purposes.

Musiland 02 / Aune T1 are of course better, way better biggrin.gif

Are they 5-6x as good?  Probably not.

The pressure from the smartphone industry is insane, Intel is going through hoops trying to breakeven with their efficiency.  Meanwhile, Nvidia has demonstrated real-time ray tracing on a mobile phone.

I hope this and this console generation will make something worth upgrading in the next generation or two.  Waiting for DDR4, and possibly an AMD comeback!  Not a fanboy, AMD sounds exotic to the common man lol.

First Haswell... Now DDR4????!!?! Nooo another reason for a new mobo... Well, I heard AMD has a new 5Ghz processor.

That "new 5GHz processor" is not new at all. It's the same CPU I have. Just a factory overclocked 8350.

They never mislead anyone.  They use the finest batch of silicon for the 5 Ghz line of CPUs.

Its an OC enthusiast CPU!

Thread Starter

Corsair 600T, Fractal R3, and Rosewill Thor V2 are some of my top choices for a maybe next computer case.

Only thing is...is that I want my next build to be much quieter.
