PC Enthusiast-Fi (PC Gaming/Hardware/Software/Overclocking) - Page 153

I feel a LOT of sympathy for all of you who have to deal with those with a severe lack of computer literacy.  While sometimes I do have to help people with programs (admittedly, it usually involves the higher-level stuff in Office, such as the basics of Access or formatting in Word), but at least I don't have to deal with really stupid things like damaging a GPU to get it to fit.  They know to talk with me first before doing anything really bad.

Also, this bit from Vendorgear is coming in tomorrow; I'm most excited about this as ... like I said, I lean back a lot and I think good head support will be near perfection in seating when combined with the rest of the chair:

It's a bit spendy at about 160 dollars but considering the cost of a loaded Aeron ... no big deal. But reviews on it are highly favorable (other than cost) ... and so I figured why spare any expense on a chair I'll be sitting in for the next 20+ years.

;-)

Looks like a good alternative; I find I rarely lean back enough so my shoulder blades touch the chair; but as long as the lumbar support is adjustable enough (which it looks like it is) and the front of the chair slopes forward enough for me I'd be happy.

You said, "children", therefore you were referring to both of us.

Yes. However, I was not referring to you with the comment about Beats. I was only referring to you with the children part.

He texts me later that day and tells me that he got the new card installed but it wasn't working and asked me to come take a look at it. I get to his house and I open up his computer. This idiot has taken a PCIE x16 card and cut off almost all the pins with a hack saw so he could fit it in a PCIE x1 slot. I face palmed so hard I left a red spot on my forehead.

Goto a my father's friend's home.  He was having trouble turning on his PC after cleaning dust.  When I open the case, the CPU, heatsink, and fan are dangling from the 3-pin fan cable.  The CPU of course had broken half of its pins inside the socket, so really not much I could do at that point (for free).

You see, this is why I don't do PC repairs for family and friends unless it a 5 min job.
