Still blows my mind that someone would attempt to play a game like Assassin's Creed with M+KB.

Nice! Heat dissipating fin overload in the first pic.

What specs?

I'll be building a new upper-mid class rig this fall

Well. I did and dropped it

If you're not going to port it properly, don't bother porting it at all. Every other cloak and dagger stealth/fight them up has decent kb/m controls. It's not like a flight sim without a joystick. I'm not going to buy a controller for a single game, especially when controllers are the most awkward schiit ever invented and I can't aim, move or look for schiit.

Do us all the favor and resize those pics or use the image upload function please. Also, specs.

Two high end GPUs and you pick an AMD chip? For the love of Jude, why? confused_face(1).gif

Also needs more 2560x1440 or 1600p monitor goodness and maybe a custom loop. wink.gif

Might as well, since it's always open due to needing a fan blowing on it constantly for mining; tongue.gif

First of all. Don't start this nonsense. It's all over the internet and you know what I'm talking about.

I picked the AMD chip because of it's multithreading capabilities. It performs better than the i5 3570K for around the same price in applications that make use of all 8 cores and I didn't want to spend the money on a 3770K. Also, ASUS ROG motherboards are significantly more expensive for Intel platforms.

Also, I have no trouble pushing both of those cards to 100%. wink.gif

I've tried AC3 on the PC, controls weren't an issue for me.  When I look back at titles such as Splinter Cell and Hitman, the console versions were harder because of the lack of buttons.  You had to tap/hold certain buttons, really annoying!

At the same time an analog input is really needed to walk/run.  Ah trying to change walking speed in SC with mousewheel was a pain too >.<

I have a variety of controllers for whatever game that really needs one.  I sold my PS3 controller mainly because XInput works without a hitch for a 360 controller.  (Still has issues now and then, no config needed)

The noise doesn't bother you?

Could've done without the passive-aggressive bit. I haven't looked at the AMD chips for a few months(well, many months). I guess the price has dropped and they perform well for the price. I'm still hoping for AMD to get a high end chip out though, there's really not enough competition in the market.

Also, same question, the noise doesn't bother you?

Walk and run have always been pretty binary for me. I don't see much value in a fine gradient of jogging speeds.

I've got a joystick I use for flight sims and space combat games, but no other dedicated controllers.

The GPU fans don't need to be on high because of a desk fan blowing on the thing, so it's not that bad at all.

I've gotten used to it, and I can't hear it over anything playing on my headphones anyway, so it's not too bothersome.

Sorry about that, I just didn't want to start an AMD vs. Intel flame war. Didn't know what your intentions were with your first comment. As far the noise goes, what noise?

My computer really doesn't make a whole lot of noise. Either that or I've just learned to ignore it.

How is AMD vs Intel shindig going nowadays?

The last time I really paid attention to computers was 8 years ago, when the first dual cores came out.
