I'm not aware if new colour variants of the MOMENTUM will be released but I'll definitely pass on your feedback to the team!

Is it just me or does the Momentum's sound beautifully neutral when you go outside thanks to the ambient noise reducing some of its bass naturally?

If you are referring to the on ears, IMO, not a chance.

And if it's about the over-ear model, TOTALLY agree.

And if gets to be a real racket out there a Bose QC15 starts to sound really good in comparison. In a train or noisy bus, you can't really appreciate the fine qualities of an open back or a closed back where the isolation may not be enough.

Man, I go away for several months and everyone is still talking about Momentum around here? This thread had one of the highest update counts in my subscription. These things must be selling like hotcakes (why have hotcakes always been so popular?). Anyways, maybe I'll pick up and actually keep a pair soon. My MDR-1R, although still great, is getting kinda stale.

I feel the Momentum (normal over ear) sounds noticeably better than the MDR 1-R in terms of resolution and tonal balance (flatter, less humpty dumpty) when I compared them at the shop.

I took a pair of MDR 1-R's home for a week and returned them for one reason. The very low end of the sub bass was not there. The Momentum's around ears did not disappoint, so they remained.

if you are talking about bass extension I personally felt that the AKG k550 & the m100s had better bass extension compared to the Momentums.

edit: the mdr-1rs seem to have like a mid-bass boost, so maybe that's why you feel that way. but i didn't particularly feel like the momentum's bass was anything special.

Will they ever sell a bigger replaceable ear cup for Momentum Overear?

Oh jeez, guys. My comments were meant as a joke and to illustrate this thread was still popular. Wasn't trying to reopen the 1R vs Momentum argument. Everyone already know the 1R is just better anyways. :veryevil:

you never know, but most likely no. just the way the earcup is designed, it doesn't seem like a wider diameter earpad would fit nicely on there, so I doubt Sennheiser would bother.

I believe they would want to more people to buy Momentum and advertise it as they found it sound great and comfortable as the company advertised their Headphone. Thats why they should be bother about it.

As for the design, I can see it can be made a little bigger on the outside and much bigger on the inside by thinning the earpad a bit.
