Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review - Page 151

Just seen:

http://en-de.sennheiser.com/momentum-on-ear

They are adding an on-ear to the Momentum line... I'd almost say: another one ;-)

Weird colors on the on-ears. Where is pure black without red tread or a silver model? These don't match my suits ;-)

BIGGER momentum please NOT smaller one!!!!

Exactly my thoughts... They were already small enough (except their case that is).

Actually, the smaller size puts them squarely into the "on-ear" segment and , as such, they are pretty comfortable.  Sound is basically the same as the original model.  Unfortunately, the case is still pretty big.

Why does the lineup picture remind me of beats...?
(solo's to be exact)

I assume because of the colors, though they don't look like that to me.

Because they have the Beats solos directly in their crosshairs. How can a big company like Senn not jump in on that gravy train? I doubt these will sound as good as the originals. I agree though, should've gone bigger not smaller.

Dang, I have not once found on-ear to be anything resembling comfortable, but those Momentum OEs are gorgeous.

It appears that they have redesigned their web page sometime today. I think this presentation is more classy i prefer it.
And yeah I agree on that, also they do look almost the same in size as the original Momentums, though I would never imagine a Momentum earcup being as big as a HD598 or HD650 since the design is simple and minimalistic. Probably the HD449 size would be ideal.

also: i see that the earpads seem to be similar to the ones found on the Amperiors in terms of material and overall build, that should be quite comfortable

Now I hate Sennheiser because I just started to save to upgrade my collection, maybe an HD 650 or some Custom IEMS, but now I just want this little thing. Thanks plakat for the heads-up. Just wondering how much these are going to cost??

I read on another thread $199USD.

They're definitely a lot smaller than the main Momentum's, should be getting a pair soon for my daughter, so will give them a go.

I sent an email to Sennheiser's tech support and asked them specifically about a larger replacement ear cup for the Momentum.

And here's what I got in reply:

Good afternoon-

Thank you for contacting technical support, at this time we do not offer a a bigger option for this model, Germany is working on this an it will be probably happen early next year. please keep checking to see when they become available.

I hope that the "bigger option" is a replacement ear cup part of some sort and not an entirely different model...I JUST bought my Momentums yesterday and love them but would prefer to have a slightly larger ear cup for my male adult sized elephant ears.

I would buy replacement earpads for on-ear version. Is this part available anywhere?
