imported nylon - 'because it's much cheaper than domestic manufacturing!'

 

I agree with you on this, it's silly.

I got these the other day and I really like them, however I've noticed something and I was wondering if others had noticed this too - my left earpad is smaller than the right one and a slightly odd shape. It's a bit offputting but also it can lead to a little discomfort as it is not applying pressure evenly to each side of my head. Has anyone else noticed this?

 

It's quite hard to capture in a picture, but I'll try anyway...

Oh, by the way - don't know if this has been mentioned (it's a loooong thread) but you can get the remote to work on Android - just download Jay's Headset Control and you can get the middle button on the remote to do basically whatever you want (for example, single press to pause, double press to skip track, press and hold to volume up).

That's the problem with working with genuine leather. 

It will sometimes warp strangely after use and moisture (from sweat).

 

Or it could just be the foam inside was done badly but looked fine when it left the factory.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sennheiser replaced it for free as part of the warranty.

It was like that when I first opened the box so it's not related to use (and even if it was, I've only had them 10 days I doubt it warps that quickly!). Thanks for your input - I will look into that. I presume the ear pads are removable and they'd be able to simply send me a new one? Do you agree that the image looks a little odd?

^ hi ive been lurking for months now about the momentums. i agree, theres something wrong with that left earcup. looks like they missed securing the leather pad on that area. maybe 1 clamp/tooth less?

 

 

im planning to buy that black version! i just wish my local audiohub store will have these

Well thanks for your help :) I will contact Sennheiser later when I have the serial number to hand. For the record, I love everything else about them. Just listening to Radiohead on them right now and they sound so awesome. Slight bass boost, but *just* the right amount.

Same with mine. Except it's the right ear-cup that has its leather much more loose. I have noticed this since I first got them about 10 days ago. The right ear-pad also feels slightly softer than the left ear-pad, especially the bottom.

My earpads are also not identical and have strange lumps, but it's never uncomfortable so I don't mind it. Just adds character.

Yes they are. It's a VERY tight fit though, so it takes some careful patience putting them back on again.

Black Momentum: at least they could have taken a few new pictures instead of using photoshop. I guess its cheaper working with digital artists nowadays.

Both the old photo on Page 80 and the one on this page are identical to the original images of the brown version. It's shopped.
