Seeking Advice on New Cans (DT880, Q701, 650s) - Page 2

Trust me you won't notice much of a difference if at all going from the Xonar to the Bifrost. The DAC in the Xonar is one of the best ones. Changing the DAC won't improve your audio as much as the amps and headphones.

If you could get the HE-500 I strongly recommend that. But if not, DT-880 or HD-600, give them a listen first of course.

I never heard Bifrost so can't comment but when I connected Asgard to DragonFly (DAC mode) it's noticeable that this combo sounds better than Asgard connected to Xonar STX

Well there's a long thread about that subject http://www.head-fi.org/t/560122/all-dacs-sound-the-same so let's not focus on that here.

OP, update us when you get the chance to audition those headphones.
