Creative X-Fi HD Mixer vs kMixer and Bit-Perfect audio

I have a X-Fi HD on Windows XP SP3 and I was wondering if the creative driver and mixer use the kMixer in Windows? Is there a way to disable the kmixer to see if the Creative DAC still works?

It is impossible to get bit perfect audio from this DAC because it only supports 48khz and 96khz (unless digital output is used). But I'd like to eliminate as many compromises as possible.
I have found some people saying that the KMixer can output bit-perfect audio but only if the master Volume is set to %50 and Wave is at %100, and there are no other audio streams, and I'm playing a supported sample rate.

Has anyone confirmed these theories?

I have tried to use ASIO but these drivers do not work "gracefully" with this DAC.

I thought X-Fi HD had native support to Asio.  Reclok also bypass Kmixer.

None of Creative's external cards supports ASIO natively unfortunetly.

Totally missed the part about xp.

Foobar also has a kernel stream plugin that worked well for me in xp. I want to say that my soundblaster was able time use ks.

Maybe USB doesn´t support Asio (and Reclock).  Can you change X-Fi input ?
