New York Times article on DACs

I wanted to pass this on to you guys. It's an article on DACs from the New York Times that was just published by Roy Furchgott titled "A Sound System as Resonant as a Concert Hall".

Any thoughts?

It's totally cool that in a blind test (not double blind perhaps) the participants could hear differences and that computer plus a $300-$500 DAC is as good or better than some unnamed expensive CD player.

Kudos to Bitfrost for coming out on top!

There should be more tests like this. I remember sitting in a store ten years ago and having several CD players that I was considering buying all hooked up to an amp. The store manager shifted from on to another without letting my wife and I know which was which. We were amazed just by how much difference there was between players. Still spent almost two grand on a CD player. Now of course, I am all computer + DAC all the time...
