That marketing line is really sad. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Doesn't really matter. Apple don't target their own headphones at the audiophile market, they target them at the mass market and the mass market will buy them in droves, because Apple said they were great headphones at a bargain price.

I suspect no sleep whatsoever is lost at Apple HQ, regarding what people here think. Harsh, but true.

Corrected your statement above. The iBuds have nothing on real quality earbuds such as Sennheiser MX980, Blox TM7 or for that matter any Yuin or Hisoundaudio earbud.

At least now us earbud lovers won't have to deal with the "iBud and an earbud and therefore all earbuds are crap" connotations...

Check out the Sennheiser MX980 or Blox TM7. The soundstage on those blows any IEM away. Of course they have much less bass and slightly less detail. But the soundstage is close to full size headphones.

At what price point?

Could you provide proof of this?

And why should they? The folks here have judged a product without even touching it... Much less hearing it.

Great Bunch of Audiophiles in these Apple Hating Threads.

Yes Sir.

I haven't judged, but I'm skeptical. Shouldn't I be?

Well, I have to say that all the other stock earbuds sold with phones or portable palyers are not so good.. I am probably right if i say that 99% of head-fi member do not use stock earphones, so what's the point?

Apple ibuds suck? Probably the ones that come with Galaxy S3 are not good either. Cowon makes great players, but the stock earbuds/IEM are not even to be considered. The earbuds that came with my Clip+ are still packed.. The main function of an iPhone is not to be a music player, so who cares if the stock earphones are ****ty?

I'm totally not an apple fanboy, but the quality of stock earphones is the last thing that you have to look to when you judge a new iphone, IMHO

Your opinion... Not measured facts.

Also, This is not a discussion about the iPhone, But the New EarBuds.

I will voice my opinion now... If it were not a known product, Y'all would be all over this product.

3 years in design, Hundreds of user ears scanned, etc etc etc.

For those who think that there are no earbuds over $10, quickly google the likes of Blox TM7, Hisound Living and Yuin PK1. These are all rather expensive earbuds and two of them 3 sell for around $150. There is actually a market for high end earbuds.

Also turf, being a earbud fan you may want to check them out before questioning that they beat iBuds although I can't comment and although I dislike ibuds I love apple!

We can't judge the sound or performence of these at the moment but I am looking or ward to try a pair. I might buy a pair or likely a mate will get one of the new iPods or iPhone 5.

Apple is just like a Kangaroo... It doesn't go backwards.

As always, I look forward to your review.

Well Alrighty Then...

A definitive number for us to work with... I think?

Can anyone else shed some light on this matter? Like the price of the aforementioned earbuds?

Thanks, Jim
