Either the Anniversary or a second Q701. Would be nice to have a pair of open AKG for movies. For now, the Qs price is very reasonable for the performance. The build is such that I'm not worried about breakage because it's light and flexy (plastics). Also, this thing happens to fit my toddler's head, too so it's ideal for guests of all shapes and sizes lol.

Expecting Q701 in few days, have K701 on loan, so, if the two are that differ that some saying, maybe I just also buy K701 or K702, which are offer easier cable upgrade, cos they are the same sounding, as I have understood. I just dont know if Anniversary will be an real upgrade from the norlmal K702 or K701, but they looks very interesting because of possible better comfort and extra pads, which may make them a bit better sounding at the end???

K601s are $199 now.  Are they worth getting?

I know that a higher level of QC and the extra driver binning process both add to the cost (as does real leather, of course), but an average street price of ~740 USD makes me suspect that any buyer would pay a substantial premium solely because of their "limited" nature...

personally, I would pay as much as a 30% more for the above-mentioned qualities. However, $740 is excessive!

Maybe we might convince Harmon to authorize a discounted group buy just for head-fi'ers? biggrin.gif (you never know...)

K/Q/70X Are allready made in Austria so the persnnal hand assembly in germany is not a plus for K702 ANV, and headband is also leather (there is a little mark for it) , just the bump are not .

AKG's cgi images of the K702 anniversary edition appear to be all black, but the background photo on one of the distributor sites show a silver headband clip (R)  instead of a black one.

personally, I would pay as much as 20% more for the ANV edition if it truly had better-matched drivers and an overall improved presentation. However, $740 is an excessive asking price!

*corrected and edited for clarity*

I thought the Q701 already had well-matched drivers so not sure how much more of an appreciable difference they can make. Group buy? hmmmmmm wink_face.gif

Its interesting that there is not a single one "live" picture of the anniversary edition ... a ghost hp maybe, for real, I would like to see one.

Edit: just found one on the third page of the thread  tongue_smile.gif

Yeah, the strap could be silver just with more light in the background, its good either way but those pads look like normal ones ? It seams that rendered picture had a different texture.

Yep - this one looks real. Pads should be the same. Photographers always insist the subject wear the headphones backwards. Doh!

Maybe the other side of the Mr Transparent was not photogenic enough and they wanted to show detachable cable  cool.gif

Too bad for the pads, I really hoped there would be a new ones.

Maybe AKG checking the market to see if there is enough demand for this version.
