AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition - Page 56

That being said, I tested the above track with this chain: Schiit Modi > Audio-GD SA-31 >  K702 65th and noticed no such distortion.  It could be your amp clipping.  I'm using MLE's old SA-31 and nothing short of an HE-6 is going to make this amp clip.

Thanks guys. Figured it was youtube compression but if you are not hearing it you might be right. Time to start amp/dac shopping. lol. I wanted a new amp any ways. My partner tried my DT990pros as I was listening to my Annies and must have decided they were his and walked away with them. He is complaining it isn't loud enough off his ipad. I may have to look at the Compass2 because I can actually use all those inputs. I would probably get the dual WM8741 though because I want the added warmth on my phone and computer. Don't need it on the mixamp though. The Compass 2 would be my end game as far as an amp. Any other suggestions? Has to be low impedance headphone output because I want to run the CALs and possibly the X1s down the road.

Sorry this is an Annies thread not an amp thread.

The Annies are really filling out. I don't know what my beliefs are but the bass has been filling out nicely and I am enjoying them more every day. I did test the CALs on that song and the bass actually scared me because I had grown so used to the Annnies. The Annies and CALs continue to shock me everyday. :)

Got my Brainwavz stands. Bought two of them (Annie and HE-400).

Currently using one for the SLYR... biggrin.gif

They go for $25 on Amazon... I think they're a lot more classy than the Rubbermaid Hose Hook I was using... and a lot more sturdy.

Wow very nice, much like those Sievking sound stands but much more affordable.  Might have to pick up 2 or 3 of them smily_headphones1.gif

Wow that looks amazing MLE.

For $25, I think it's a steal. I seen similar stands that cost 3x as much.

Wow very nice stand indeed! And definitely better deal than the omega.

I have been looking for stands for a while now and came across that but the text across the whole thing ruined it for me

WOW i really like the stand! Thanks for the suggestion! Ordered.

Haven't posted on here for awhile. Had to take sometime to adjust to the K702 Annies.

After like 60+ hours of listening, they REALLY grew on me. At first they were such a different sound presentation from my Senn's HD598, that I didn't know what to think especially since I was so used to the HD 598s.

After switching back and forth between the two to see the differences, I began really appreciating K702 Annies. The separation between various instruments and vocals are amazing.

While I'm no guru on the world of headphones, I'm very happy with the upgrade. (Unfortunately eyeing my next upgrade within this year...the HE-500..).

This one is still my favorite. You can get it from Bed Bath and Beyond for $10.

It looks cooler when you use it with the q701/65th. You hang the Q701 from that hook with the metal headband.

It's taller than it looks and doesn't take up any room. It almost feels made for the AKG headphones!

The hose holder was awful IMO.

My thoughts exactly.

Why would I want a completely irrelevant, and IMO not so great, headphone brand for my AKG headphones. If only they did custom engraving...

Not sure if this would be a practical solution, but how about covering it with material like cloth, leather/ette, felt, etc?

Not a bad idea... because IIRC, the logo is "engrave" inside.

Some vinyl adhesive wrap might do the job.

Wouldn't headphone stands stretch the headphones out over time (at least the ones shaped like heads)?

I can see how that could be a good thing for people with larger heads, but people with smaller heads might not want to use them because they may make the headphones too loose...

Anyways, I just put mine in a box (hippo case)when I'm not using them because I don't want them to get dusty sitting out.  eek.gif

LOL

I like the "Headphone is not included" disclaimer.  So no free HD800s with your purchase of a $10 bag.
