Anyone here ever listen to one of Cavalli's Bijou amps? I see one for sale, but am hesitant to make a blind buy. This would be for my office setup, to drive one of my Senns.

I really like Cavalli amps, but I tend to be a little weary of DIY builds unless I know who did it. Mainly because I have pretty poor skills myself, and if something went wrong I'd want to be able to talk to the builder or at least know it was someone who knew what they were doing when I talk to a DIY friend.

That's basically how I view it, too. When my choices are narrowed down to two extremely highly-rated engineering schools, it's hard to think of going to either one as being a loss versus the other. So, it looks like RPI will be my school for a few years. I'm looking forward to the move. It'll be a very different experience from Walla Walla.

you warren, take long posts to a whole new level. (Click to show)
Oh... I see. You didn't get the memo on this. Right now, it's your turn to be the person that needs help.
That's just how the cosmic lottery works.
I'm not sure what kind of bug it was, but it literally stopped me in my tracks. Even now, I'm dealing with projects that were slowed down because I was out of commission.
I did snus for a little while, but I stopped mainly because I do quite a bit of oral speaking in my work, and it was getting in the way of my enunciative powers. The most popular brand around here is General, have you heard of that brand? Also, a quick question... by the terms of your agreement, what happens if someone gifts you snus?
LOL... but not the Anime thread?
He didn't want to see you go through that.
Bet you were happy, happy, happy!
I'm not surprised. Oregon's not one of them right?
LOL, snap! Actually, I did wonder that a little bit.
I'm somewhat apprehensive about my first vid. I've agreed to do a video to be featured on a buddy's channel, kind of a guest reviewer thing. And while I won't be on camera, I've still got the jitters. I'm basically afraid of doing something like this:
"Well a very, very hevay - uh - heavy dut bertation tonight. We had a very darse darrison by it let's go hit taris tazen luss coulda beh the heh the peh."
I'm just sayin', general discontent with one's current gear selection is usually the first sign of a new purchase. Hey, since you and I have somewhat similar gear in one area, lemme ask you a question... don't you wish the K240 and the Q701 would have a kid together? I'd adopt that little sucker in a millisecond!
Your profile is empty, so I can't even begin to guess. Portable or home rig based?
+1 And this is the part that I don't get. More often than not, arguments in favor of equal rights for gays and lesbians is framed around that of pointing out obvious merits. I don't think this is particularly effective because the opposition does not employ reason. Why can't it just be said that "hey you crazy bigots, while the way you feel is valid, the way you're thinking about is way off the rails and just plain wacky!" Kinda like this:

Can someone take this and photo manipulate the front panels to this color.
I need to decide if I can deal with the XLRs still being black. Justin's found me some red screws that are a pretty close match, so that's the only thing holding me back. The silver looks great except for the XLRs, but it might look OK in deep-ish red.

IMHO red and black is a good combo. Honestly the black XLRs are fine to me because the rest of the chassis behind the front plate will be black. It gives balance to the amp. I honestly think an all-red front plate wouldn't look as good.

Not the best PS job ever, but I hope it helps.
A flat wine red would probably look nice.

I'd be worried about two things:
1. The white lettering (maybe it can be black instead?)
2. The LED color. Blue LEDs on a red chassis would look ugh.

the horror. Actually not to bad if it's more purple-ish/amethyst-like. I wouldn't be able to look at the red all day, and it'd stick out for me personally compared to the silver.
