God help me, I have a Weiss MAN301 now en route to me for "evaluation" and I'm doing the same with a dCS Vivaldi DAC, once the other place gets it in. Clash of the digital titans will commence soon. cool.gif

AUD? It had been 399 CAD (Headphone Bar) for us for quite a while very_evil_smiley.gif

I still remember the person who bought one of the few units remaining during a visit (not at all popular). I think he sold it off a week after.

They even had it for 349 or something during the open box sale. People REALLY didn't like it. It's just a bad combo - not very good at...detail, dynamics, a lot of things. And tonality was skewed an awful lot. Even the T70s weren't as offensive.

 

...Not that I'm biased...rolleyes.gif

Really now? Hmm that cheap. Okay I shall have to tuck my excitement back in and think about this.

 

I'm particularly interested because it's a high end headphone with a single entry cable lol.

Cool - the Vivaldi and the Man301 can take an external high-accuracy word clock source. If you're going to that level, you absolutely must get a clock that can minimize jitter.

There's a 64-bit word clock in the Zodiac Gold, I figured I'd try them with and without to see if there's a difference.

Yeah - to really do it right, the same clock source needs to be used throughout the digital chain.
