Meh, never tried to fight off a lion, but have been successful against many cougars. I avoid eye contact and refuse to buy them drinks.

Giant Isopods are sort of cute in their own way, but at the same time, they remind me of the big alien bugs in Nausicaä that freaked me out as a kid. (Hence why I don't like Miyazaki except for Totoro, and why it took me nearly 20 years to begin watching anime again)

Eke, how do you feel about Jerusalem Crickets? I've got a whole bunch of those in the backyard.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Do you mean Crickants ?
Close enough.
They're kinda cute once you get to know them.
Did you grab it off like a man? Or did you hit her in the head with something?

My skin just crawled. I'm also afraid of falling into a large ant nest.
Wait, did you mean a large nest of ants, or a nest of large ants. Because if you meant the latter, +1.
You too!
I'll bet that even on the next page, someone will re-post the pics in quotes.
I've heard fake phone numbers are also pretty effective.
Fire works, but I'll give you a little secret. Should you ever come across a Jerusalem Cricket, all you have to do is turn it over on its back. Then it becomes both harmless and mildly entertaining.

Eew. Stop it.
Then again I really love this site: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/
It's just a cricket. Could've been worse, we could have started posting youtube vids of cysts and stuff.
Hmm, probably because that site demystifies the little monsters. They're scarier when we don't know what they are.
Do they taste good?

Yeah, insects and creepy crawlers scare me in the most scary ways possible. Especially if they're big and aiming at me for dinner or to put their eggs inside of me or something like that. I bet they would like to put their devilish eggs inside my brain or liver or something like that. So, generally, I take the safe route and just kill them before they can execute their devilish plans on me. It's kill, or be killed. I'm telling you, it's a jungle out there, and the strongest one to squash to kill them all will survive.
Otherwise, stuff like the starnosed mole are scary in another way:
That nose shouldn't look like that. It's basically on the wrong side of it, and probably a bit oversized. It gives me the creeps.

I hate mucousy membranes showing. Especially when they look like worms.

Oh yeah, sea creatures in general are quite scary. This is why I don't want to swim in the ocean. Even the cutest looking creatures are probably able to kill you in at least a thousand ways with poison or something.
That's what they're called? Yeah, I hate that too.

That's how they are called in my head.

Actually, the older FADs filters can often look like that. I've had NOS come looking like that. It was whatever material they were using.

Wait, that can't possibly be real... can it? That's amazing.
Hmm. Well this is why I didn't neg him immediately. But I'd still like to know why he didn't check.
I actually removed the filters completely... quite liking the sound.
