Actually one of your west coasters was supposed to come also but he had to pull out at the last second due to work. We're going to be doing another meet next week Wednesday night and GirlsGeneration whose from Vancouver will be bringing his LCD2/3 and his Schiit statement stuff

By the way, some of the guys were playing around with pad mods on the HE-500 and the Jmoney leather Denon pads fit quite nicely on the HE-500 and gives it a very nice sound. I was even more impressed when they were being driven on the NuForce rig in balanced through a speaker tap. It was a very nice sounding setup. The second most impressive HP there for me was the HD650. The HD800 owned pretty much everything on the table with the exception of the HE-6 but the HD650 for under 500 bones I think is a great buy. It sounded pretty good from my stack and quite good from both the Schiit Asgard II and Magni and man was that headphone comfortable. The HE-500 was probably one of the most uncomfortable I had on my head due to the weight but it did pull ahead of the HD650 in sound quality.

I'm curious to hear more about how you heard the HD650 vs HE-500. Did you find the HE-500 better because the HD-650 was warmer? 

I ask because I'm comparing my HD600 with the HE-500 right now, and I'm finding them pretty even in SQ.
