Don't disagree.  I think it helps to be aware that women are more often the victims of domestic and sexual violence, and don't have equal rights in some countries.  That said, it feels like the right answer to to condemn ALL domestic violence, ALL sexual violence, and demand that all genders, sexes, races and religions have equal rights.

 

See the oppressed as humans, and not a classification.  See the oppressors that way, too, and you're starting to make a difference.  imo.

I completely understand and agree with that point of view. However, remember that it's International Women's Day. And by far, most women in the world don't get to enjoy what we all take for granted.

The most benign, strange yet telling example here in India is it's only illegal for men to ride a motorcycle with no helmet on, women aren't protected by that law. The rest of the inequalities here are legion, egregious, and demoralizing.

Yes, some of the Sharia? based rape/adultery laws are, from my western perspective, insane.

Well, it's not nearly as bad here (in most areas) as it is in some countries in the Middle East and Africa - where it's unimaginable how it could ever get to the point where more than 50% of the population is so horribly mistreated.

But anyway, I think there is still a need to raise awareness of inequalities. Don't be offended if you know it doesn't apply to you.

It's more that a staggering number of people in general are sexually abused in ****ed up parts of Africa.  I've read some reports that show it actually happens to men more, but getting sodomized with a rusty pipe isn't considered rape there so much as a disgrace.

I sat next to a Kenyan overseas student in college, and some of the things he told me just seemed incredulous. One time, while we were working on a lab together, he told me that if you were ever caught stealing in a village, they'd tie you up and everyone would round up gasoline and burn you on the spot. **** blew my mind.

I'm not sure on the neutrality claim but I'm hoping the final product lives up to my lofty expectations. I surely enjoyed the proto and it had zero echo of the original ASG-1. Email confirmation of shipping can't come fast enough.

Ha, that's great! Thanks for reminding me. It's been a long time and I have forgotten much but still remember how impressive the treble response was and how clean it remained at very high volume.

I have some different, or rather more solid views on neutral after owning and ER-6 and auditioning a Paradox. It will be interesting to see what I think, once I get to spend some time with it.
