It seems silly to me when I think about it, but often one of the first questions I will ask when I meet people is what music they listen to, and then I make inferences based on genres and artists. This kind of thinking doesn't really seem to hold up when I think that different people have different reasons for liking the same thing, and also that I try to give every genre a chance and I believe that having a broad musical taste is a virtue. Even then I can't stop myself from using music as a litmus test.

Nope, not really.

Choice of music has always seemed rather personal to me so I rarely talk about it in specific and don't think it's something to judge someone by.  What music I like is mostly based on difficult to articulate emotional responses and I find myself ill equipped to have a discussion about why I like what I like.  I could barely even tell you anything about my favorite bands because I go out of my way not to learn anything about them besides when their next album is out.  Rich, famous, and creative people are prone to doing bat$#!+ crazy things and I don't want anything else to contaminate my experience of the music.

The closest thing I have to judging people by their taste in music is a smoldering hatred of "classical snobs".  The kind of people who say that people who listen to "lesser" genres shouldn't bother with better gear.  I don't care what they think of what I listen to but I get angry because n00bs occasionally believe them and get cheated out of potential enjoyment.  That's hardly everyone who listens to classical, even as their main genre.  I usually get suspicious if the only thing they mention is a detailed list of classical's subgenres though.

I dunno. That's a full frame camera man. It seems like a good price to me to get some of the best sensor tech in the world, though I don't think I'd personally be ready to move up to full frame.

I think after all these coverages I may just get the NEX5R and skip the 6. I'm not too sure the addition of the viewfinder and the loss of touchscreen / 180flip LCD is really going to work for me. (I don't actually like shooting through the viewfinder much, and adore the wonderful ways I can manipulate the NEX5n LCD haha.)

I need to stop oggling over camera gear and actually start making the things I want to make though. :P

I'm sure its a great value for its price-range but just very expensive regardless. Then again the very people spending that kinda money would look at us in disbelief on what we spend on our audio gear ;).

Lol. If you think that is expensive, don't look at how much the lenses cost XD But yes, in absolute terms, that is expensive. Unlike audio gear though, this stuff can pay for itself.
