True, but if you were a native of Marshall Islands you'd be thinking otherwise.

Personally I think nuclear weapons should be globally banned along with civilian sold assault rifles. Of coarse what do I know I'm a Christian pacifist.

The Raven Report
I finally got Raven hooked up to my laptop and I'm loving it paired with Eva driving my M-100. My new desktop/mobile setup isn't exactly high end and probably greatly pales in comparison with the other rigs people on MuppetFace's thread are running as a desktop rig but hey as far as a desktop rig goes it's a start and the music is sounding pretty nice so I'm content for awhile. As a mobile hifi solution I think I'm up there with the best and the only step left is to take advantage of Ravens balanced capabilities and find myself a balanced amp solution. After that I doubt there's much more I can do to take my rig any further except maybe experiment with more IEM/CIEM gear.
Back to the IEM front, I swapped out Itoru and gave Eva a run with my EX600 and K2 sp's and it was no contest the EX600 won out. Feeling rather surprised the K2 sp could do so bad I began to rethink my chain because traditionally the K2 sp always bested the EX600 with Eva and I didn't think adding Raven to the chain should have made enough difference sound wise to the EX600. I then realized something, three days ago I had swapped out my usually worn Meelectronics tri flange tips on the EX600 for a pair of T500 Comply tips. I had read on the boards someone claim it was the best of both worlds fit and sound wise between going with a shallow fit and a deep fitting tri flange tip. I had ordered the T500 tips and I had swapped the tips out and due to a busy life just gave the EX600's a quick listen to make sure I was getting a proper fit and seal and forgot about it.
The K2 sp has Comply tips but they're not T500 tips they're the longer deeper fitting and isolating Complys. I went through my jPhonic Comply baggie and swapped out the old tips for a pair of T500's and bingo, the K2 sp's came alive and was now back on par with the EX600's with both Eva and Itoru. After owning both gears for some time I'm still unable to make a decision on which IEM bests the other. All I know is my little tip tweek took them a step further and adding Raven to the chain has really added a lot of depth to their presentation. Everything sounds so realistic now and I'm no longer second guessing my decision on choosing to spend all that money on Raven. What can I say, I'm impressed and I'm now really impatient to see what Raven/Eva/Itoru can do with the Paradox headphone and Heir 4A CIEM I've ordered.
I think tomorrow when I leave for work I'll give Eva a little wrest and rotate Itoru with Raven back into the freakster mobile rig solution. I need a little more time with the K2 sp to further assess the T500 tip tweak and what better opportunity then to real world test it when on the go. The old longer deeper fitting Complys were great for isolation and hopefully these T500's won't be to far behind. As for Eva she can handle all my home listening once I get home and crash for the day
I hope nobody minds to much me fawning over the CLAS on the thread. If I'm becoming to annoying with these impressions please let me know and I'll stop.

Hey guys, how do hybrid amps work. Thinking of going w/ a Maverick tubemagic d1 plus w/ the upgrades. Then get a separate DAC (and maybe amp) down the line.
Maybe I should just wait for the ODA whenever that comes out and get the ODAC :s

I have a question. Is there really such a thing as "too much detail"?
I've seen some reviews that claim an earphone/headphone is "too detailed" to enjoy. The way I see it, wouldn't that just be an excess of treble emphasis that gives off that impression? I've heard phones like the TG334 and FI-BA-SS that offer up tons of detail without being fatiguing.
So, is there such a thing, in your opinion?

maybe too much detail for that person's taste. Could possibly bring out so much of a recording that it shows flaws and thus makes it not enjoyable. But your thought also possible

Well some people think to much detail is unnatural sounding. It depends what you're into some people just want smooth fluid musical fun sounding headphones.

Which is what I think the TG334 is...an example of transparency and detail, without having to resort to boosted treble. Same goes for the FAD Piano Forte line. All the detail is there, but these aren't bright phones by any stretch. That's why I struggle to understand what they mean by too much detail.

Why is it when I put on Popol Vuh and listen through Raven/Eva it sounds like I'm hearing a record
It doesn't pop or anything it just sounds so...analogish?
Anyone else ever have that experience?
