I was just on IMDB and saw that "Cmdr. Sinclair" from Babylon 5 passed away a few months back. That was one of my fave shows from the '90's. Sad to see him go. Not many of the original cast are still around.

That is absolutely ridiculous. Less than ten years ago, I could see a movie on like $6-ish per ticket. And it didn't cost $6+ for popcorn, either. One person could see a movie on about $14-15 and two could see a movie on roughly $20 or so. I took my girlfriend to see a movie a month or two ago and it cost almost $40. There's no reason it should cost that much to go to a theater. I can cook a steak dinner (rib eyes) for the two of us and spend less than I would by taking her to a movie theater. I think there is something wrong with that.

Should have just hid snacks in her purse.

She doesn't have a purse. She doesn't tend to carry very much stuff around with her.
Edit: To be fair, the way most movies are today, I'm usually better off just cooking the dinner anyway. It's much more satisfying than most newer movies. Unfortunately, there aren't enough exceptions to really justify going out to the theater and risking it just to come away seeing something that I could've gone without watching. I prefer just buying DVDs of movies that I already know are very good. That way I don't have to worry about being disappointed.

About $10 here as well. I think it's pretty okay though. It's not like I'm going to the movies every week, but the few times a year that I do go, I think it's usually worth paying $10.

Depends on the movie. Sometimes I feel pretty bad about spending $10 on a ticket. I'm sure that Les Miserables or Django would probably be worth the cost, though.

Do they serve good beer, wine and food? $5 is a more appropriate price, IMO, for the movie. And if the food and drink is good enough to justify its own price, then I would probably think that's a better value than what we get here in our regular theater.

Agree. £7 for a movie then at least £15 for popcorn and a drink. What a rip-off.

My understanding is that, at least in North American multiplexes, pretty close to 100% of your admission ticket goes to the movie revenue. The multiplex makes their profit solely from concessions, which is part of the reason they're SO expensive.
I've also heard that at least some multiplexes don't really care if you hide out and watch 2 or 3 features on 1 bill. It's actually likely to INCREASE their profit.

Funny you should mention that. My AP Literature teacher also pretty recently watched 5 or 6 movies on a single ticket by theater hopping. He made that his main activity for the whole day.

The Sennheiser IE800 when driven by the UHA-6S may very well have the best midrange of any universal IEM I've ever heard. Yes, that includes my beloved Flat4 and TO GO! 334. The Flat4 still seems more dynamic however, whereas the TG! 334 has a better overall tonal balance. But damn, the IE800 is impressive.
The FXZ200... not sure how I feel about this thing overall just yet, but so far I'm inclined to say it isn't very good. For one thing, it's stupidly large and cumbersome; getting a decent fit has been a chore. As for the sound, well, it's just wrong somehow. I tend to have an open mind and a wide tolerance for the unusual, but in this case it's kind of irritating to me. It sounds ringy, sluggish, and sort of like cupped hands over one's mouth. I don't think I've been quite so taken aback by an IEM since the original ASG. I'll give it more time, but thus far I prefer the FXD80.

Is there a custom you've heard with better mids?

Oh, I guess he's more of a speaker guy, but only has that in his sig. The discrepancies going on above are still wacky, though.

Everyone, say hello to Eggzercist. This little lady it the latest edition to my wacky and interesting looking mini figurine collection.
(cue geeky sounding background music)
I just got the confirming email from a eBay seller saying my bid won out. I hope little Eggzercist likes keeping company with a couple of mini Transformers a bobble head Evil Eddie wearing his The Trooper garb and another Evil Eddie doing his Phantom Of The Opera schtick. Now if I could only find Damian, Schizo, Jingles and Calvero at a decent price I would have a neat looking collection of the coolest looking Mini Dead Dolls figurines.
