It was a vacation trip; purely coincidence there was a meetup happening around the same time too. Which is not what I want you to believe, but I feel compelled to stay honest.

They do have two-way radios.....

Not in a long time, no...lol.
Okay, well your secret is safe with me.
Or Lone Wolf McQuade. "You got a supercharger?" Yeah, I've seen some weird stuff being the latchkey kid that I was.
I'm running an LG Optimus. It's just smart[phone] enough to not be declared legally stupid. The office is offering me an iPhone5, but I'm not sure I want to live in an Apple ecosystem just yet. So if this Sony fits my txt/email/web/app/audio needs, it's got me sold.
I might add the Grado RS1i and GR10's to my list of things to sell in the near future. I've always found the GR10 to be merit-less compared to every other IEM I own atm, but it was only after listening to the RS1i's for an extended period of time today that I realized I have no reason to keep them nor do I have a whole lot of appreciation for them as things. I was using them as portable open headphones, but in that context there's little reason to use them over the SR80i's. I mean, they're not in the same league, but I don't really care when I'm riding my bike.
Speaking of which, I really wish my bike hadn't been stolen. It was a black Specialized -- by far the nicest bike I've ever owned. (This happened months ago and I've already done all the **** you're going to suggest I do; I'm just venting frustration here.)
2013 Head-Fi Agenda
I've decided to lay off all but substantial upgrades this year, which in my case means I won't be interested in anything but maybe going stats* or getting a much higher end DAC. I enjoy collecting and exploring this stuff but am not in the best position to be doing so -- as I've more or less said elsewhere in these threads, my life's an unfocussed mess right now so I should be applying focus of some sort where ever I can. I see this as doing such.
I've tried to stop buying before, but failed because I still had no idea what I was looking for in terms of sound and was therefore easily swayed. I have a much better idea of that now though and a much better idea as to whose ears I can trust. This past year was the first one since my joining where I've been consistently active, which entailed a lot of experimentation; as far as I'm concerned my Head-Fi journey is just beginning.
*It should be noted that I have no intention of selling off all my dynamic stuff if I do so. I feel as though these two breeds of headphone could live side-by-side in this place + I always have at least 2 home rigs.
Does my use of censored profanities here bother anyone? It's never meant to be aggressive so much as an accurate representation of how I speak >_>
Well, my buddy decided to change his mind on the Sextette. Oh well easy come easy go. I'm sure another opportunity will one day pop up again.
Only in the sense that it might take me a second longer to decipher which word it might be. Other than that brief inconvenience, it's fine with me personally. On a side note, I am thrilled that the censors don't filter out Schiit.

There's also M-Fidelity, which used to make Starkey's customs under a branding contract but are using their own name now. They're in Stavanger, Norway, not Stockholm, but that's just a ferry ride away, right?
So that's what happened to Starkey....
I feel better now knowing their products are still around in one form or another.
FYI~
For iPhone & iTouch users, "BrailleTouch" will be hitting the AppStore 31 January. Fully compatible with "VoiceOver."

I've read a review on Sony Yuga. They say that it's probably the first Sony smartphone in a long time that doesn't lack anything in comparison to the best from competitors as it was the case with Sony in recent times. It has the most advanced specs: 1080 display, powerful platform, very nice design etc. The problem is that it may get very hot and battery life is short but these shortcomings come from it's most powerful platform and it is just unsolvable.
The Ocharaku Flat4-Maple is here. ....sheesh. This thing has utterly floored me. I don't want to talk about it much atm because I'm like totally having "new toy syndrome" here probably, but the packaging has to be the nicest I've ever seen on a pair of IEMs ever. The little wooden box is a little work of art, and inside there's a royal blue silk cloth folded with meticulous care, and inside that the IEMs.
The actual Maples are pretty nondescript: a lot darker in color palate than the SUI, but much more elegant looking. The little handle-like tubes----the anti resonance mechanism thingamajigs---are coated in a black lacquer. The inlays are made from wood with the same meticulous craftsmanship of the box.
Sound-wise, they seem pretty much like the SUI, but I'm inclined to say the balance is a little less top-heavy and more bottom-heavy, ie. the treble isn't as bright and the bass is more powerful. But that may not be the case. Need to do a direct comparison.
So far, I think these things are fantastic.
