Senn HD650 ($500)
O2+ODAC ($285)
Speakers ($1000 or less)
ASG-2 ($???)
Fostex TH900 ($2000)
All in all I only really need $3785 + $???
As you can see having never had a job or ability to purchase my own things, this is an exciting prospect for me.
I'm also looking to buy a nice watch, camera, gaming computer, electronic keyboard, and a harmonica. However if I add all those things into the calculation, I'll need something on the order of $10,000.
I really need a job. Maybe I'll get one next semester.

Now that I'm more or less sated, headphone-wise (aside from having an ESP950, but I'm in no hurry), I've started obsessing about DACs.
Somebody please make this stop...

I've made myself a little "wishlist" for one day once I get a job.

Why a harmonica??

My Leckerton UHA-6S has developed a rather worrying issue. When I plug my IEMs in and adjust the volume, there's a popping / crackling. It was really loud too, and of course I had my Sony EX700 plugged in, which is one of my most beloved earphones and now out of production should something happen to it. The EX700 seems to be okay-- though in the left channel there was a bit of noise afterward. Sounds in order otherwise.
What could be the issue? I'll be sending it in, I suppose.
Speaking of which, the Float QA is going back to QUAD Musik next week. I sent an e-mail to them asking if they had an idea of what the issue could be, since it seems rather widespread, and they said they'd have a better idea once they examined mine. Hooray for being a beta tester for such a costly item. Anyway, they said they'd cover all shipping expenses thankfully.
My luck with gear seems to be off at the moment. ;____;

Dude. Harmonicas are awesome.
You're not kidding.
Leckerton sounds a little overwhelmed with orders at the moment but Nick takes warranty work just as seriously as new orders, thankfully. I was pleased that when I shipped my amp in for a mod, he went and fixed some problems that I hadn't even noticed yet.

Did you get a new handset recently or were you in the near vicinity of a lot of people with handsets making calls. My 6S MKII when I have op amp 209 installed can crackle when I turn on my Touch's wifi or if there's enough people near me with cellphones. The same thing happens with my UHA-4 with op amp 8610. As for the popping when I turn mine on and off I always get a popping not sure if that's just me or not.

Nope.
The crackling / popping isn't the "normal" noise from plugging them in, but only seems to occur when I adjust the volume pot. The static noise seems common on stepped pots (happens on my KGSS), but this is new for the UHA-6S. Also it's far, far in excess of something I'm comfortable with in terms of volume. Could definitely harm some IEMs...

I have really bad luck with IEMs no matter how well I take care of them so I'm thinking of just using portable headphones on the go. My GR07 plug broke and my ASG-1s have a nozzle crack. I don't have the funds to deal with these routinely so I'm really hoping for a solution. Most of my time listening with these IEMs are when I am stationary in the bus or train, and when I do walk it's usually a short distance to move through the station, etc. The only problem is the tropical weather and that I sweat easily.
