So it seems that one of Dsnut's hyped headphones, the JVC HA-S500 Z got Tyll's attention, which usually means my attention too. Not that I mostly agree or disagree on most of his assessment (heck I can't considering what I have and haven't had the chance to try), it just means that Dsnuts-Hyped HP #42 is getting measured and someone with a lot of experience is giving it a go. Which adds a lot of weight for me personally. Well it's not really that model, but the cheaper one, S400.
Also interesting is Tyll's measurement of the Beyer Custom One Pro. There's a thread here that I have subbed to, and for what it's worth, it's 50/50 useful/useless, IMO. That graph alone is worth more than half of the thread IMO. Of course it would also be great if Tyll did a full review of it, but his apathy towards it means that I shouldn't hold my breath on it.

So long as she doesn't get extensive cosmetic surgery, then I'd agree, she isn't hurting anyone. Hopefully she wont end up hurting herself.

He did actually measure the S500....http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/JVCHAS500Z.pdf
Measurements aren't necessarily everything, of course.......but they are a nice sounding set of 'phones.....especially for the $47.10 they cost me!

LOL how I missed that. The FR and the square waves does looks promising. Of course, a subjective impression is needed too; it would help a lot more if it's his. Does Tyll's measurements line up with what you think of it? And does the majority line up with yours?

As far as I know it's original. As of now, Google hasn't seen it before either.
Yay for me! An original thought!
That's actually pretty surprising. Even though I came up with it independently I'd have figured I wasn't the first.

I think that she's doing it not only because it is her hobby but rather she is trying to improve her life and make for a living. Being just an attractive young woman doesn't help in this regard especially in such countries like Ukraine. Also population in the former Soviet Union is very conservative and doesn't like "different" people. So having such a hobby there can be pretty humiliating.

Seeing as how uncanny valley is a pretty recent term, I think you're breaking new ground here!

Also I need to find some of those gel thingies you put on the backs of shoes to keep the heels from rubbing and giving you blisters...

Looks like we're in for some rich comet action in 2013.
With the improvement in CCD/CMOS arrays these days, we're likely to get even better pictures this time around. The problem is getting around the thermal noise.
HST should get some good shots, though.

Doesn't seem like that bad an idea.
Create an accurate mold off your feet. Then put some kind of heating element in the mold, and fill the remain space with e.g. plaster. Then using pistons build a contraption that continually stomps up and down.
That's actually a very simple build, relatively speaking.
