Bioshock Infinite is one of my most anticipated games of 2013. I saw it coming but the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the game all over the Internet makes it hard to wait!

Also looking forward to the release of the Last of Us in June, and FFXIII-3 later this year.

Like I said earlier, I'm a slowpoke when it comes to games I really enjoy. I only play a few hours every morning to reflect on the experience.

Hmm tonight is just one of those nights when all sounds right with my system. I must be in favour of the Audiophile Gods. That or my expectations are temporarily lowered.

Brilliant. SC2 april fools though was just kinda annoying, well to me anyway.

For the full impact of their joke, take a look at the pull down accessories menu as well as the FAQ linked to at the bottom. Love the FAQ.

So, this morning I opened up the replacement Stax SRS-002 I was sent by Yama. Maybe you'll recall the issue with my old set: the amp had a high-pitched whine when in Eco Mode. It was audible through the earphones and even without them. Well, I was quite disappointed to discover this new replacement set has the exact same problem.

Did they not even bother checking to see if this unit had the issue before sending it to me? Evidently not.

This is a fairly common problem among SRS-002 owners to my understanding. The tour unit from HeadAmp had the issue. I've had three pairs now, each with this issue. I'm honestly surprised more folks aren't expressing concern. I suspect there's not much uproar because it's only audible in Eco Mode, and most users apparently don't care about Eco Mode. One head-fier flat out said "I don't care because I'll never use Eco Mode."

Whether or not you plan to isn't the point to my mind.

So far this has been the low point of my Stax-related experiences. To be fair however, the fault also lies with Yama (US distributor) who is notoriously bad in the customer service department.

On the plus side, I got my Marconi Radiotron 6SN7s yesterday. I lucked out on these and got them for a pretty ridicuous price for a matched pair. Plugged them in to my Liquid Glass this morning.

W-O-W. Some very nice sounding tubes.

Now if only I could find a matched quad that didn't cost too much....

Eddie Current Electra should be delivered in the next few weeks. Reeeeeeally looking forward to it. The Liquid Lightning 2 was the best stat amp I've heard up to this point (yes, better than the BHSE in my humble opinion). Will the Electra top it? We'll see!

I just want to report: the AD1000X is an awesome headphone and an improvement over how I remember the AD900X (and even the AD2000) sounding.

This unfortunately makes me really really intrigued to hear what they did for the AD2000X.

I'm always baffled by this kind of attitude; utter selfishness and that everyone should just follow the ******'s obviously very important and objectively correct opinion. I always figured that a product should have all its features work as advertised regardless of its potential usage. It something like this doesn't work and apparently being deliberately overlooked by the manufacturer despite the reports that do came in from those that use the feature, why put it there in the first place? **** what the ****** is thinking, and just fix the bloody thing.

EDIT: interesting choice of word to censor, I admit. I know that the f word is censored, and apparently the word that starts with a "d", rhymes with "bush" and ends with "e" is too.

Even though I'll never use Eco Mode, I shall stand in solidarity with you, and not buy whatever that thing is that I can't afford anyway.  smile.gif

How do you guys handle your online identities?

I'm the type of person that comes up with new usernames and handle names once in a while. Even the one I have here on this forum is outdated, I have a new one.

I typically update my handles on places where I can -- ie, I can change it on steam.

It's disconcerting to me that my identity is so fractured (I have 10+ different main user names I have used over the past 5 years, not to mention the countless other random names I made up and only used once or twice), but on the other hand, it's relieving to know that people can't track all my activity just from my ID.
