Silly name aside, this is a very interesting product because it's an orthodynamic IEM. Yup... an IEM! You may recall VSONIC had plans to release a similar such beast, but apparently those never materialized or are on some perpetual back burner somewhere.

Wood is said to be maple, and the metal accents are brass. Not sure how I feel about the design. Seems a little underwhelming! Still, it's cool to see another wood IEM to go head-to-head with Ocharaku's upcoming entry-level model.

Price will be around 500 USD.

This will pair perfectly with Google Nosebeta!

Obvious follow-on joke: "wouldn't the weight stretch your ears out?"

I'm not seeing the post on their blog (which is kind of weirdly not in chronological order). I suspect shenanigans.

My DAC is Metrum Octave which does not have a USB input, so I NEED a USB transceiver like the Stello U3. Both U3 and Octave are Blue Moon Awardees in 6moons, and the reviewer have cited that they are a superb match synergistically.

You guys are much older, sagely and experienced than I. You guys also go into good discussion so I hope I can get an answer.

After being trolled by SAO last night, I realized something. (There was an April Fool's joke where a highly desired TV series special was going to air, I fell for it)

What is happiness and when do I really feel it?

I see people my age being 'happy' all the time. I know what happiness feels like(maybe) and I can say that I don't feel it most of the time.

Yesterday's April Fools with SAO 16.5 showed me(reminded me) what it really feels like to be happy, excited and overall in a good mood. I am generally in a neutral everything mood or state.

We here in our demographics and psychographics are pretty similar people(over in the Anime thread, 17+ age and a love of tech and anime). So let me ask you guys, do you feel happiness often? And if so, how? What do you do? Do you have people around that always make you smile and have fun? Do you get happiness from the sheer activities you do be it gaming, watching anime or conversing?

I am not exactly sad, but I do like the feeling of happiness when dopamine releases. ..... It feels good. And I want to be happy.

I'm 75% neutral, 20% Sad and 5% happy.

I hope that college will give me the chance, oppurtunity, and reason to be happy. But I know statistically from people who are like me who also say that, that such a thing really doesn't happen. We can try to be more outgoing, find more friends, be more peppy, but we can't exactly hide our inner selves.

I exhibit symptoms that are generally exhibited by those who have been bullied, hurt by a female, or just denied by people in general. Except that that hasn't happened to me.

So what exactly is happiness and how do I achieve it?

You should start cutting yourself with razor blades. That way you'll at least feel something...

You just need to find your niche, or pick a major that challenges you. I'm often bored because I don't feel like I'm challenged. That's why I tend to procrastinate doing my school work until the last minute, so I can feel that rush of anxiety that comes with working against the clock.

Either that, or you're depressed. In which case I'd advise you to see a doctor.

Quick question about this part.  Has it always been this way?  Or is this more of a recent thing?

I thought that sort of split was normal. I'm pretty indifferent to everything.

I do have a niche now :)... I've kinda had one.

Recent. Very recent.

Pre this year and throughout first and 3rd years of High School I was more

70% Depressed 30% Neutral.

This is a huge improvement if you ask me.

Well it depends on the person.  If one's natural state is to be indifferent, then I guess there's nothing alarming.  But if there's a sudden or rapid change, then that's usually a good indicator of something significant.

Then I'd say you're probably on the right track.  Outside of anime, are you able to identify specific things that make you happy?  Because if so, I'd say go after those things with a passion (as long as they don't hurt you or anyone around you).  smile.gif

BTW eke, as a person who's been to the edge, I can promise you that wasn't funny. Not even a little bit. (Click to show)

It's funny to me because I'm there right now.

My mom has early stage cancer, but she's choosing to pay for my education instead of getting treatment. I've been rather depressed for the last few months, but I can't talk her out of it.

I've been looking into trying to get one of my American friends to cosign a student loan for me (I'm international, so they won't give me any money), so it can free up her funds to go to the hospital. I'm not finding any luck so far...nobody wants to be a guarantor for that much money/year.

Sorry if I offended you. I was more laughing at myself.

Apology very much accepted.  In addition to having gone through some rough times, I've also worked suicide prevention.  We learned REALLY fast to not joke around about certain things.

So, what are you gonna do?  Maybe you could take academic leave for a little while?  It'd give you a chance to relax for a bit and she could seek treatment.  Listening to music, hanging out here, maybe doing some amp builds and recabling... might not be the worst way to spend some time.

Music had never sounded so good, I've never felt such eargasm since my one-time experience with the Orpheus system. Figuratively speaking, I was audio-hungry for one month, and you know what they say: hunger is the best sauce. I can listen for hours without being fatigued, I'm so glad to be back!

Just wanted to share one of my happiest experiences as a Head-Fi'er. darthsmile.gif

Great to see your return in this space! But, wouldn't Japan have had opportunities for you to plug-in to some wonderful Hi-Fi setups?

We've already seen a couple of "Sub-themes" at work, so... evil_smiley.gif take Wednesday, for example, we could get wicked one day of the week, no?!
